We're going to see how he is over the next few days and then make a decision based on his quality of life - think we may be putting off the inevitable though!!
I'm home today as dd no3 is covered in a rash. Saw pharmacist and he had no idea - said it could be measles or something but she has no other symptoms - she's in good humour and no temperature. Have to watch her over next 24 hours. It looks a bit like chicken pox, which she has already had! Like a bad mom all I thought was at least I've saved my petrol money todayProud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
Sorry to hear about your dog
.
Hope DD rash gets better soon.0 -
Well took the dog out for a walk with dh last night determined to have the big talk and make a decision on his future - dog acted like a puppy and bounded round - can't remember the last time he did that, but he has just had a reprieve!!
Dd still spotty - went to GP and she said some of the rash was a fungal infection and the rest she's not sure about but may be very mild chicken pox or just a mystery rash!! As it's mainly all on her trunk, she said she can go back to school - not sure the school will be thrilled about it, but sounds good to me
Just been to my local Somerfield which loses tonight for a refit - bought 4 full bags of food for £14! They had no meat left but I've bought fruit and veg and some goodies like cookies, humous and custard. Going to get the recipe book out and make up some food I can stick in the freezer - or at least that's the theory. This afternoon I'm going to hospital with dh for a 2 hour balance test. This evening got a meeting at the kids scool about GCSE options and hopefully back at work tomorrow!Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
:(Well, today has been tough! Took our lovely dogs to the vets and he told us that he had something on his lungs. Dog was ill again yesterday! Made the decision based on the vets advice that any treatment was just going to temporarily delay the inevitable, to have him put down. The house already seems weird without him.
Anyway the kids have asked if we can go out for a meal - 3 of them have volunteered to pay for their own so while it's completely impractical it's been that sort of day!Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
I'm so sorry to hear the sad news, its hard to let go of a much love pet. Try to enjoy the meal this evening and spending time together as a family.0

Thanks. He was 14 years, got him the same month we got married so he was extra special - still he was a fab dog and I'm glad we haven't let him suffer anymore!!
Trying to get my head focussed. WEnt shopping last night and spent £97 - hope this will last till payday, with just a bit of fresh milk and bread to keep us going! No idea where I'm going to get money to last me through. Payday isn't until 2 weeks Monday and of course, we had to pay out an extra £115 for the dog today which was an unexpected expense!! I put it on cc to give me a bit of breathing space.
Yesterday dh had a call from Halifax - he has had a card for about 10 months or so. Anyway they offered a life of balnce balnce transfer at 9.6%. I told them that as there was money already in account it wasn't worth it as money always pays off the cheapest rate first. (hope that makes sense!) Anyway he said that new changes come about in November and all lenders have to take payments against the highest rates first. Hope he wasn't blagging as this could be very positive. (transferred £1200!!)Proud to be dealing with my debts, light bulb moment: 2/1/2010, reviewed 7/1/20120 -
