  • You're so much more organised than me!

My mum had to come round earlier and help me tidy up.

On a good note we've been helping my nan clear out her house as she's got so much junk and she gave me a load of baking tins and a kenwood chef, I'm so excited to get going with that!!

On a not so good note, I've got no where to put it and have been looking on Ebay at all the attachments you can get for it!

Forgot to say I also mowed the grass last night - would hate not to get any credit for it ;). WE have a small garden so in theory it shouldn't take long but trying to manouevre the trampoline, swing and washing post is a nightmare. However grass was up over my ankles so couldn't leave it any longer and looking at forecast it may never stop raining long enough to do it again!! :)

Todays plans are to go to Sainsburys and get bare essentials (they gave me a £6 off £40 voucher) Then ironing, dinner and REST!!

Have finally got round to filling in tax credit dispute form and signed the Halifax application so will also pop them in post today!

Very well done in getting the Halifax Card - I often wonder because we have so many late payments would our credit rating be any more shot if we were on a DMP. I dare not look at it!

Got approx £100 for food for rest of month. Family allowance due next Monday so that will have to cover petrol and the kids lunches till payday:(

I did buy a cook book last week from the Book People called Feed the Family for a Fiver. Made chicken soup today and it was lovely. The kids are really tempted and think if I can get them involved in the cooking then they are more likely to eat it ;) It also has some useful hints on how to spread your food out by adding pulses and dumplings - going to try and get organised and shop for cheap veg and meat then cook and freeze it. Need more hours in the day though :)

Im sure the is a thread on here somewhere on how to feed a family cheaply, I found mince can go a long way. I also saw a thread on here where someone posted what food they had in the freezer and store and asked for suggestions on how to get through the month.

Thats the problem with this money saving lark, you need more hours in the day as well as more pennies in your purse.

Cornflakes and mince has gone a long way in this house manys a week!

Have made a chicken and potato bake for tomorrow - just made omelettes tonight! Thing is I know the novelty of cooking will soon wear out - getting home at 7-8 o'clock, the last thing I want to do is stand in the kitchen for another hour. Will have to get motivated at weekend and freeze meals!!

Bit fed up - my dog has been a little poorly, he was 14 last month and we've had him since he was about 7 weeks old. His back legs are starting to give out and he struggles for breath when we take him for a walk now and can't keep up with us at all! Anyway he was sick last night and when dh took him for a walk tonight he kept being sick all rond the park. Think the time may have come to let him go but it will be so hard. Demon baby loves him and we bought him the month we got married so he's always been with us!! :(
