  • Hi Paul,

Just seen an advert for quitting smoking and it made me think of you!!!

The gist of the advert was to get a smoke free kit as you need to use the right tools for every job.

It showed a window cleaner cleaning a huge office block using a trampoline, each jump could only get a tiny part cleaned!!

Hope you don't have this problem!!

    EE

    No I don't have that problem as I stopped smoking in 1987 :D .
I've seen the ad. Quite funny really. Especially the bit about using "the proper tools" as doing triple floor work from a ladder these days is definitely not on. Even one floor up may be illegal on some interpretations unless very stringent safety measures are in place.
It was a good ad though ;)

:( Poor you Angelic, just think about the money (and no child welded to your leg :D)
How is wee Adam (and Little AM - can't forget her :)) getting on? We've not had an update for a while....

I'll be part time so pretty much gettingthe same money I am now :(

Thank you for asking after the kids...they are both doin really well!

Adam is rolling for Scotland now and will sit up if he's supported. He is also trying to crawl but the muscles in his upper body aren't quite strong enough for him to be up on all fours so his bum is in the air and he moves a bit like a slug! :D Feeding is going really well now too, we stated weaning him about 2months ago but he's only just started opening his mouth for the spoon...before we were sliding it in via a wee gap between his lips (I'm glad Adam is a boy because that last sentence sounds really dodgy! :rotfl:) so it's alot easier now!

Little AM is doing really good aswell but she doesn't like her wee bro making noise! I think she may also be getting a bit bored at home now, we've had the snow since the 2nd week in Dec so we've not been out since then with the pram so she's developing cabin fever!

    Hi all:j

Just sneaking in under the wire to PAD £10 to M&S card please Green - thankyou!! Taking DD19 back to uni tomorrow - whew, hopefully then can get some things done here lol :D But first the big pack up, then drive over there, unload over slippery pavements & then no doubt stuff needed from supermarket, then Indian meal out (they are used to students, so provide containers for any leftovers, all gratefully received for either her or her flatmates:T)....she's also heard there is no hot water at the flats, so not looking forward to that too much.

    Hi everyone!...

    ***NEWSFLASH***

... I am going to lend him the £680 from my old Barclays overdraft which I have nearly paid off, but still has the overdraft facility. Its a cheap overdraft though so it isn't too bad. We also figured out how he's going to pay the others off as quickly as possible and also pay me back. It's a major setback to my plans but the way I see it we both need to be debt free so If it has to happen like this then thats the way it's got to be.
    xx

Thanks for help in understanding this guys. Reading the above, just thinking how much worse things like this if we're maxed out and don't (like me) have 'safety net' contingency funds/resources.
Great that you do and can help, someone once said "Sometimes we step back only to leap further ..."
Finally Debt Free (£8k to zero) yay! :j :j

People on here are paid at all sorts of different rates, what matters is that something is paid every day if possible. A lot of people aren't using their wages/salary for Pads but are using savings from Whoopsies or rounding down the bank account, or extra money from Ebay etc.
If I go shopping and get BOGOF items etc. I save what I would normally have spent. I get paid weekly, but in cash so can't really use that for making online payments, so any savings go to a pot.
    Does that make sense?

Does anyone here get paid fortnightly? I think this challenge would be so much easier if i got paid weekly!

Little PaD for me today please Green, just 7p to the slummy jar.
The weather here hasn't been too bad, but at some point yesterday it got to 4 and was lovely and sunny, so the top layer of snow started to melt and then froze overnight. Skating anyone?:D

    Morning everyone

6.36 please Green to my cap one cc.

Had another great day yesterday - DS1 was assaulted yesterday heading to the train station from work in broad daylight:mad: Luckily 2 drivers pulled up to assist him and rang for an ambulance (he had head injuries but not severe). Apparently there were 7 of them jumped him mainly teenagers. Was a bit of a shock but the worst bit was having to sit in A & E for 4 hours before he was even seen - it wasnt even that busy. We were sitting there 2.5 hours before they called a single person grr. Thankfully he just has a black eye and his nose is swollen but was very badly shaken. I just wish i could thank the people who were good enough to stop and help him - it makes you feel so helpless when something happens your kids and you are not there to protect them.

Sorry for the rant first thing on a Sunday morning. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.:A
