Yep I too used to leave the room, kept imaging all sort so of unlikely accidents! and then I opened one on my own in the kitchen cos well I was by myself and I am much better now.

Elli - I like M and S and have found Morrisions pretty good too for Candles, not for big bangs sadly.

I have Asda vanilla tealights (think they were 99p!) and they're lovely I had an expensive candle bought for me as a pressie - and when I lit it, it made me cough :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Do you know - have just realised that I have NEVER opened a bottle with a cork ! Most wine bottles seem to have screw caps these days

We've never had balloons in the house. I always told the kids that they would scare the cat/dog. They're now old enough to know the true reason

I let off about 50 party poppers yesterday, made a right mess and must've looked like a fool.

I dont think I'll ever overcome the fear of sudden loud noises, but I'm trying :rolleyes:

Reading all of the posts tonight have been really inspirational. It is funny how alike we all are really, with the 'saving for special' and the fears we have.

I have so many small fears (as well as the usual big ones, like dying before my daughter or losing my dad) that I think I am a pathetic person and how will anyone like me when I don't like myself most of the time.

Do you know what else I won't do? Hold sparklers. there I have admitted it.

my parents always told me I had a vivid imagination cos I used to get scared my coat would catch light..................
