Hello to everyone who follows
Short list today
- check bank and move money to vsp
- plan meals for next few days from what we have in already
- seal back door with something to stop howling gale whirling round kitchen
- either today or tomorrow take decorations down and store in attic for next year
- skype sister
- print out flylady and give it a go next week. I used to follow her on her own site but got a bit much so will try the OS version as I need to get some order back into my life!
PS Bagpuss - did Doctor Who live up to expectations?

Hi guys
Fresh start for me at the moment - debt free for another 13 days only as we have recently signed contracts on our first house and the first mortgage payment comes out on 15th January! However also have to pay rent this month as we need to stay in the flat until the notice period is up and we don't get our keys until 8th January. I need to chase my landlord about what's happening with the deposit (£350) as that will cover a lot of the first payment if we get it all back. So, I need to start doing all the little things I used to in order to not get slowly back into debt.
So, things today include:
* Working at PT job - had given up in September but am doing some Xmas cover - will give me an additional £50 or so at the end of the month which will really come in handy.
* Daily scratches - 2 x 10p.
* Checked online banking - no change but always check!
* Booked train tickets for my parents as they don't have a maestro card (only solo) and it's an extra £3.50 on a credit card. Not a saving for me but they're on pension credit so it's good to help!
* Brought leftover NYE snacks into work for lunch and will have Xmas veg curry for tea (made last night, loads left)
* Maybe go to the cinema after work with free tickets (I work in a cinema) but it depends how snowy it gets, might just go home.
* Start up spending diary again!
* Check whether cashback from Oakfurnitureland has tracked - bought a gorgeous oak table and 6 chairs along with a mango wood coffee table and got 5% off and 9% cashback!
Additional things for tomorrow:
* Cinema with free Mastercard tickets
* Make stew for work lunches next week
* Bubble and squeak with eggs for breakfast, hopefully won't need lunch that way
* Check what's in the freezer so we can get it eaten before we move!
* Order new fridge freezer that OH's parents are buying us, before 750 extra points on Tesco.com expire.
* Watch Doctor Who Confidential - didn't watch it yesterday as I want to drag out the last David Tennant moments for as long as possible!
I think that's everything, looking forward to getting back into these threads!

Hi Everyone :j
Hope all is well, especially those that have been under the weather x
Today I have/will:
* Had a kids portion of fish and chips instead of adults ( Cheaper and healthier), but still a little treat.:rotfl:
* Keep my spending diary up to date. I started writing everything down back in August and it is amazing how the little things add up. So, I bought a 99p diary at Wilko's that'll fit into my handbag ,and it's a constant reminder not to spend !!
* Leftovers for tea
* Have candles on tonight instead of 'big' light. It's much more relaxing anyway.
* Not go food shopping, i'm aiming to clear the freezer in January instead of buying anymore.
Have a good weekend everyone x0 -
