Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd January 2010 - What small DFW things have you done

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Morning All,
It’s the weekend….I can see Monday and back to work on the horizon . Oh well, best celebrate weekendness while I can. So far I have/will:
· Checked online banking – no change but I had to check
· Enter comps online
· Daily scratches
· Meals from storecupboards
· Have a LSD – meeting a friend in town for a coffee but to offset the cost, I will walk to town and back (saving £3.80 bus fare)
· While I am in town I need to take some books back to the library and renew others
· Need to buy lottery tickets for this week
· Need to find out how much is in my savings account
· Washing on 30 – except for towels and t-shirts which need 40 to kill bugs etc
· Read more of my library book
The following were on my list yesterday, but I never got round to doing them as I fell asleep for 2 hours!
· Watch the crochet DVD that I got yesterday
· Need to cut out my pattern ready for next week’s dressmaking class
· Need to measure myself and cut out the material
· Need to tidy my dressmaking box
· Catch up on yesterdays forum
· Need to do a food plan for January
· Need to measure myself and do my weight journal
· Need to learn how to do advanced excel functions (this has been on my list forever)
Think that is about it but I am sure there is more to do, take care everyone

These are fantastic habits, such as checking the bank account each day and keeping lists of everything you do to help yourself. I should get into that. Sometimes I'm afraid to look at my account, even though I am nearly two years into an IVA and should be more meticulous.
But this is a habit I WILL adopt in 2010. You have really brought home to me how important that is. Thank you!
Sewing is something I am investing in. I asked all my relatives to give me shop vouchers for Christmas and I have now ordered my sewing machine. I'm quite creative and the things I have up until now been making by hand can be more swiftly made and in larger quantity, possibly with a view to start selling. I have a very encouraging friend who is willing to help me do the on-line stuff that I won't have time to do once my second baby arrives in March, and my fiance will happily make me a website when I get to that point. (watch this space!!)
I believe in 'mate power'!! Everyone needs support.:T I would advise people allow others to help them whenever and however help is offered.
No point in feeling alone when there is a someone ready to help you.0 -

Woke up to a fresh covering of snow today - poor doggy doesn't like it but has been for his first trudge of the day!
Did have quite a few plans for today but may change them due to the weather, it looks like there's a wodge more snow in the sky ready to fall.
Today I will...- Walk dog x3 for free exercise

- Book hair appt for next Sat
- Do spending diary online (going well so far, started on Dec 27th)
- Have a little tidy of wardrobe and maybe chuck some stuff out (charity shop) as can't fit everything in anymore

Morning people! We had a little bout of snow last night, very chilly even with the heating on all night!
So, today I:- am working in my 3rd job - waiting for confirmation of hours!
- will be eating bubble and squeak made from left off veggies
- will be passing on a load more cooked veggies that I know I won't use - my friend will whizz up and eat as soup - sprout soup anyone?!!!!!
- have checked online banking - samey same!
- have made a small PAD
- need to try and get hold of some money bags - emptied the £2 tin last night as it was full and I had £210 in there!!! Will put half towards debt and half towards some new clothes! But need the bags to be able to pay into the bank!!!
Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0
