OK, so Im done for the day.

Have rebooted the washing machine 3 times, have put dried clothing away.

Dusted the front room. Hoovered the carpet.

Washed the birds in the shower (in their cage) and then washed the cage out.

And now have burger and chips cooking in the oven (less mess) - so no money spent today (yay!)

Time to turn on the TV and admire my efforts.

I feel very proud of myself

    Good Evening,
    Hope everyone is doing ok.
Welcome to those who are new to posting.

After a slow and wobbly start I made my mums birthday cake - sponge mocha - and some muffins for kids which have already gone when I got back from my mums. They turned out brilliantly after I got stroppy with my whole family as one by one they appeared in the kitchen for breakfast/ lunch. I get fed up of the constant canteen culture in my family - the kitchen is open from 8 to 11 for breakfast and 12 to 3 for lunch. I shall be glad when Tuesday comes and they disappear for the day!

We are taking down the decorations tomorrow so am really enjoying the lights tonight. It always feels so bare afterwards.

    Love Mollyx

    Well have a relaxing evening
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

...Has anyone heard from Floss recently?

:hello: I'm here, H-J!! Been lurking rather than posting.....however, have succesfully negotiated both Christmas & New Year quite quietly with just me & OH (plus a flying visit from the DS's) - seem to have eaten mainly leftovers, interspersed with Quality Street - while I relaxed & he got over shingles!! He came out in a rash on Boxing Day and has just finished his anti-virals today - it seems to have been a mild dose though (Floss touches head in lieu of wood!)

Anyway, am back to work on Monday, to a changing environment after a restructure within my council....methinks I will be building up flexi-time over the next few months while things are sorted & settle down

    Good evening.

I ended up being at home all day as DH & SIL wanted to be at the care home. I don't mind it's their Mum after all. She is still pretty much the same but sleeping more apparently. She's a tough old bird obviously, bless her.

I washed, dried, ironed, did the cat box & hoovered downstairs then made the lentil soup & naans for tea this morning. I managed to get a Ventilator Bonnet knitted this afternoon so pleased with that :T I shall have to ask the kids how to post pics (or a link to them at least ;))

jc2703 The cheese & potato slice/squares sound lovely. Care to share the recipe please?

Hope that everyone has had good days xx

With pleasure :D it was one of those things that was really nice for such little effort!

    Easy Cheese & Onion Slice
    600g potatoes peeled & chopped
    300g cheese cubed
    pinch cayenne pepper
    bunch of spring onions sliced
    1 egg beaten
500g puff pastry (I used ready made jus-roll)
    1. Heat oven to 220/200 C. Boil potatoes for 15mins until tender. Drain well and mash a little. Cool slightly.
2 Mix cheese, cayenne & onions with smashed potatoes and stir to make mouldable filling. Roll out pastry, put filling in middle, wrap pastry round and turn over so it is laying on its seal on a lightly greased baking tray. Tuck ends under and brush with beaten egg. Bake for 30 minutes, Cool, Slice and serve.

I used about a kilo of potatoes and 2 little rounds of cheddar with chives, 1 of smoked cheddar and a leftover lump of dromore cheddar - approx 300g just because it was what i had leftover from christmas but any cheese would work and i got 2 slices using 2 x 500g of puff pastry.

    Was really tasty!

  • Hi all

Ooooo the cheese and onion slice sounds yummy and easy to do , will have to add that to my list to do.... ! Had a nice day today, bit lazy this morning watching TV and scoffing YS'd crumpets -yum! This afternoon we went for a drive out to Mudeford for a change and some fresh air , didnt walk about much as it was sooooo cold and DD is suffering with a second bout of this cold virus thats doing the rounds, we did have a nice time together tho and yummy paninis and hot chocolate in the cafe!

Stopped off at Poundland and 99p store on the way home and stocked up on toiletries, also got some handy storage baskets in Poundland in lovely bright colours. I have a bit of a weakness for Salt n Shake crisps and was pleased to see them in there so stocked up on a couple of bags. Also picked up one of those money saving tins that you need a tin opener to open. We are planning to save at least £1 a day in there, hopefully more.

Tea was nice and easy tonight even though we all had something different, am hoping to do my first bit of proper meal planning tomorrow for the coming week!

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday, take care and be safe. x
