I love Mottrams too! we bought a coffee machine from there once and the owner was very helpful when it went wrong. I do end up spending money when I go there - so I don't go very often, but at least I'm supporting a local business.
Thanks Lesley for telling us about the Indian shop - I've prob driven past it many times without noticing it. I'm due an expedition to T Wells (DD's jeans are more holes than denim at the moment - so I can't put it off any longer) so I will check the shop out.weaving through the chaos...0 -
Mark we like a la king too but i use stock in the sauce instead of milk for a bit of extra flavour
Called at Mr A on the way back from DS hospital appt . got some free range chicken legs (4) for a quid but resisted the tray of chinese (from the takeaway bit) for £2 was thinking it would be good for emergencies but persuaded myself i am covered on the emergency front.*****

Did some shopping at the CoOp as I have 2 orders for food (I cook for other people occasionally) and picked up 3 Wholemeal loaves at 30p each and 1 Kg 4 bags of small potatoes at 25p each
would have got more bread - there was LOADS more, although mainly white which I don't like - but there is only so much bread one house can store!
Still - bargain. I am going to play with some Indian spices and see if I can make something delicious with some of the spuds0 -

More cheese today for DS1 - funny had thought it was DD1 who ate the most - well will be working on that next week. Liver and Bacon and onions for our supper was gorgeous but just a tad over budget - could have been under 50p with better portion control, but like I said it was gorgeous
