Phone calls all made. My friend whos husband has died is being amazingly brave - too brave and together I fear. It was so unexpected, she performed CPR on him which must have been just dreadful, but at least she will always know she did everything she could for him. My other friend who lost her dad is reacting as you would expect, she is taking every day as it comes, some are better than others. I feel so useless, they are both good friends and nothing I can do or say will make anything better and to be honest I don't really know what to do or say. :o

Anyway on a brighter note the holiday was lovely.:)

Funniest bit had to be when hubby ordered a double cheese burger - the double bit being the cheese, not the burger as he had thought:rotfl:

We spent far to much money (there’s a surprise) went to see loads of shows including Lion King, Jersey Boys, a Cirque du Soleil production (KA), Menopause the Musical and a magic show. Jersey Boys was absolutely fantastic and menopause was hilarious, hubby sat there opened mouthed not knowing what to say!

What is it with holidays that make you spend money you wouldn’t dream of at home? Hubby insisted that I should have a pair of UGGs, I explained to him that for UGGs you need to wear skinny jeans, leggings or skirts- none of which I own! Eventually found a pair of ankle leather boots which are far more me! www.schuh.co.uk/womens-Black-Ugg-Caspia/1482107010/ Bought a Ipod in the airport as it was ‘cheap’, ahem if you call £280 cheap. The credit card bill will be over £1,000 higher than normal, I supose its a good job that we don't go on holiday every year:o

We had a gorgeous hotel room after explaining we were on our honeymoon:eek:. Had a huge bathroom, his n hers sinks, a large jacuzzi bath that proved very useful for washing my smalls (or large's in my case!), an enourmous shower that I could bend over in and not get cold bits as my enourmous bum touches tiles:p

Bedroom had the most enormous bed in it, I could stretch out and still not find hubby:eek: Had fantastic views through enormous windows that were serviced by massive electric operated window coverings - curtains, blinds, shades etc.

Whilst we were there 1.5 million dollars was stolen from the hotel casino and we knew nothing about it until we returned home:eek: It wasn't me officer honest:o

Ayway I have a lot of money moving to do so best get going.

    Love to you all

Sounds like a really fab holiday and as you said its not that often so I would not worry about the money. Sorry about the friends its hard as you want to help and don't really know how to. I think the one thing I have learned is to not try and avoid the topic of dead, a lot of people who have lost someone says the worst thing is when friends try to avoid talking about it. Sounds strange when I try and write it down but hopefully you get the gist.

  • Well its been a very long emotional day in work, ringing people and letting them know what has happened. I am going to visit both friends this weekend-I cannot wait to just give them both a huge hug - I am prepared with Tissues, Tea Bags, Milk, Wine and Chocolate! Both have had so many flowers they cannot move for them, so I thought this was a good alternative.

Money wise, hubby has been paid and i'm due money next week, hopefully I can rob Peter to pay Paul until the new year when another regular saver is due out:cool:

Hubby has just announced that he has to go to Japan with work from 6th January for 10 days...amused i'm not! I wouldn't mind if they paid him a bit more when he was away to compensate for the time etc. But hay ho thats life.

Lots more snow today, I was up at 6.30am like a big kid wanting to make a snowman, disappointingly the snow is too 'fluffy' to build any thing with:(

At least we cannot get out and spend money!:money:

I have just read a fabulous idea on Dinahs thread over on the DFW boards.

Basically you identify 11 things in your life you don't want or need in 2011. 11 for 11...get it?!

I am going to start my list now and add to it over the next couple of days.

    1. Clutter
    2. Mortgage (although realisitcally to complete pay it off in the next year is unlikely!)
    3. 2 stone (very realistic)
    4. Dogs dreadful behaviour (this one is going to be tough!)
    5.
    6.
    7.
    8.
    9.
    10.
    11.

I like that idea I could easily find 11 things I don't want need for 2011 will start mine with 2 stone too although for me 1 stone might be more realistic. How are you getting on with the gym? I haven't been since October really must try harder was thinking of having some sessions with a personal trainer to get me to go.
