I was very brave yesterday and had my smear without making a fool of myself! Was easy really don't know why I get myself in such a tizz. My flu jab was done by a student doctor, who gave it to me in the exact position of my BCG.....strane man...oh well it aches a bit but i'm being brave:A

I went to the gym and it nearly killed me....a week and half off and I seemed to have gone back 2 months:o

Today was its usual made self, work, mystery shop then 2nd job for the evening...but its all done now.

Returned home to a great letter though, from npower saying they owe me £53.58 from 2007 - i'm not even with them anymore:j........ that pays for the new sketchers from Sunday with a little left for......... who knows:p

The final...final...final figure for Breast Cancer Care was £614 (that includes money from the gift aid part of online giving):D Promise not to mention it again..but am really chuffed, thank you everyone for your support.

Me too... walking everywhere while off ice obviously didn't do much to keep me fit. The skating at the weekend was really tiring (and I took it easy! :o) and I can barely sit down now - My bum / thigh / hip muscles still hurt! :rotfl:

  • Had a slight disaster (imagine that said in a Craig Revel Horwood type voice) yesterday.

For a few evenings now I have been thinking to myself....must get hubby to go in the loft as a part of the landing ceiling was looking a little bowed, silly me though it was just something a bit heavy in the wrong spot.....well I was sort of right, the 'something a bit heavy' just happened to be sopping wet loft insulation from a leaking boiler pipe:eek:

So at 11pm we were both in the loft lifting insulation and bagging it for disposal:mad:. Luckily the celing is still up, however it will need relacing at some point. We are going to the [STRIKE]out[/STRIKE] in laws tomorrow to borrow their dehumidifyer, which will hopefully help ease the situation somewhat. Pipe is fixed - had just come lose...blooming plastic push on fittings:mad:

Oh well it could have been so much worse,, imagine coming home from holiday to find a collapsed ceiling:eek:

I have a weekend off from work and am really looking forward to it. On Monday I am having my hair cut n coloured - am really, really scared.

    Have a fantastic weekend all.

  • At least you noticed there was something wrong. I find i notice stuff so much quicker now i am at home all the time. DH hates it as i always seem to have some jobs for him to do over the weekend. I am sure as a result it will be much cheaper to fix.

 Eeek  Still, as you say it would have been a lot worse if you had come back from holiday to an interesting internal water feature
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • Thanks all dehumidifyer (sp?) is in the loft and running as I type - hopefully it will help. We should be able to leave the ceiling until the new year (fingers crossed).
I should work on the weekend it is better for my bank balance - instead of earning money I have been spending it:eek: Went to Tesco (absolute choas) to use some double up vouchers, got hubby some clothes for hols, some sock and some smellies.

Got more vouchers delivered today - £90 worth:eek::D:o That will be all those extra 500 points bonuses that I signed up too:p

Went to Sainsbuys to get some of their cheap Diet Coke..also got neices CD and got £8 off my £40 spend - bargain!

Went to Makro to stock up on cat litter - ended up spending over £100:eek: They had some lovely ankle boots..all fluffy...but as I had bought sketchers shoe last weekend I thought I should give them a miss:(

Not long now before we go on holiday - i'm sure I will manage to spend plenty then:rotfl:

Am pleased to report that I managed three trips to the gym this week after my 'poorly man flu absence'.

When we were shopping today there were dogs that needed rehoming, lurchers and grey hounds..they were so laid back, I fell in love. I would seriously consider re homing one if I thought out naughty terrier cross would get it on with it. I would hope that their laid back nature would conteract his manic behaviour. The chap I spoke to was very knowledgeable and came up with some good ideas for introducing one to our Devil Dog if we ever did decide to take one on.

    Keeps dreaming..........

  • The dehumidifier should really help. We run one virtually all day in the winter to counteract condensation from drying clothes. Very helpful.

You are a softy thinking about another dog. It would cost you an absolute fortune you know. (I don't think that would put you off like. ;))
