No happy jumpies on this post:(
After being reminded on another thread how important it is to have a smear test when called I have finally booked mine for 2nd Nov:eek:
The last one I had I got 'slightly' hysterical - for 'slightly' read - TPA didn't know her own name DOB or telephone number - I have no idea why I get like this but it is truely rediculous, if the nurse reads my notes before I go in I think she will suddenly become ill and have to go home passing me on to one of her colleagues:o
To add insult to injury I have also booked to have my flu jab at the same time:rotfl:I thought it might take my mind off having the smear:o
OK I am off for a major throw away session.

Am sure the smear will be fine (says the bloke who knows nothing), and then flu jab, you will be sorted out for a while and won't have to worry again... Well done for sorting it out and organising all that to be done on the same day...

I had my first smear recently, wasn't worried just embarrassed, then I got in there and after her prodding for 10 mins she says 'well this is embarrassing, but you're the first person in 22 years whose cervix I haven't been able to find'! I then spent 2 weeks waiting for the doctor to come back off holiday terrified I was missing a cervix! After that I'm prepared for the next one.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Smears -shudder smiley.
I had a random persons smear results on my records from my student days. I know there was another person with my name in my year doing a biology degree and i did my biochem one, but when i said there was no way that was my test the current Drs practice would not believe me.
I then had an abnormal one, and had to have one every 6 months for a few years. Nightmare, One of them i also had the missing cervix thing, although wasn't worried about that as the nurse told me sometimes they hide. That amused me. I didn't think there was anywhere really to hide, but mine managed it.
You got to have a little laugh at these things or you get stressed.
TPA - they seem to have got a bit better at doing them - no cold metal speculums anymore. A plastic one instead. You will probably end up regretting the flu jab more.

I hear you on the hate of smear tests.. having almost kicked the dr in the face once whilst shouting obcenities...not my favourite thing in the world to have done!! :rotfl:
then again, lesser of 2 evils having had a couple of abnormal results necessitating less time between them!
well done on the xmas shopping , that is an achievement ! now you'll be roped in to helping other less organised people tho!
