I've just had a bit of a revelation, I don't really want to choose a wedding dress because what will I spend all day looking at once I've bought one?! I wonder if all brides feel a bit sad after they get married because they've got nothing to think about and plan after the wedding,

It's a nice colour Cinny and one I wish I had, but I think yours is nicer!

I always think that Birdie, I imagine it can be a bit flat afterwards, especially if you're really really putting loads of time and energy into organising it. I think you're doing the best thing by organising a trip to Disney a few months afterwards!

ETA - I don't like the Evian adverts either or the Double Velvet ones or the old Meriva ones - I don't like kids dressing up as grown ups or animals dressing like humans - it gives me the heebie-jeebies!

I just sent the link to my sister as she is getting married and has 2 dogs!

There is a bit of a lull after getting married but you can focus on getting a house,or booking another holiday. There is always something to plan if you like planning!

I don't like planning, I just like my new favourite hobby of looking for wedding dresses! It's saving me a fortune because I can't do any impulse buying!

Do you not like Anne Geddes Tete? The babies dressed up a flowers and such like? Too cute!

I'm one of the last of my friends to be married, and I can honestly say every single one of them is glad to have the faff of the wedding over and done with! Also everyone says it really is different having a husband to a boyfriend. But there is a bit of a scary thread on the MSE bridezilla board for women who are facing this exact issue or are now married and depressed. I can't read it tbh it makes me cringe, the wedding is the icing, the marriage is the proper cake!

Ha ha, I agree! Although 'yappily ever after' did make me inadvertently snort-giggle in front of my boss (thanks a lot Birdie!)

I imagine it must feel strange being married after 12 months+ of planning - not bad, just odd. Our friends who just got married in South Africa seemed totally shell shocked when we saw them at the airport on the way home! Luckily they are going on honeymoon (3 weeks in the Caribbean, I believe - they are subconsciously super-MSE and saved an absolute fortune getting married in SA!) next month, so they still have something to focus on and plan.

It's a bit different for them as they aren't starting married life living together, they aren't even living in the same country at the moment

Cinny, I do like the brunette, but I'd love to be a natural redhead - i'm sure you'll look lovely either way, you're v lucky to be able to go blonde or brunette!
