Yay! I can't wait to see pics. Hope you have a wonderful honeymoon!
It's LaraHoust by the way - I changed my name so I could become a MFW, my name was a bit too close to my real one to post our income and house value and where we live etc....:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Have you been able to change your username Lara? I didn't think you could ... Or have you always had two identities?
Congrats Mr and Mrs NIM, already sent a FB message, but will echo everyone else and say you looked gorgeous. So jealous that you'll be sunning it up now and I'm stuck at work with torrential rain forecast from tomorrow!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Hey Tete, they can change it for you if it's too close to your real name.
Seconded on the jealousy part, it's cloudy and raining here, a palm fringed beach and hot summer sun would be great. Although I will be in Uganda on October 3rd so can't complain too much about not getting good weather!:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

Gosh, that is soon Lara, exciting! Will you still be in touch with us whilst you're away? Hope so!
It's my first full day back at work in 4 weeks, quite a struggle after doing very little for so long! It turns out that what was thought to be a virus may actually be more psychological ('anxiety issues' the doctor says...), I was at home feeling OK, tried coming into work twice over a couple of weeks and had to go home both times because I kept going all dizzy and headachey and panicky. Not good! I've been signed back on but with the agreement that I'll be let in gently and moved to a quieter office. I think the problem is that the office they've moved us into is so loud and there are so many people invading my little personal bubble because we haven't got enough room has just made me go dippy, the delights of being autistic and not being able to deal with loud noises and lots of people! I reckon I just about managed for a few weeks because I had to, then my brain and my body got together and shut down on me because they'd had enough! So this morning I came into work, explained the issue to the relevant people and got moved into a little manager's office in the corner of the big office where it is a lot quieter, but I also feel a bit like I'm in the naughty corner! I've been told it's not a long term solution either so I have no idea what's going to happen because I really can't cope with sitting where I was before, even going over to my 'old' desk to pick something up makes me go all jittery because of the noisy ladies shouting down the phone! My poor little ears can't take it!
On a plus side, our chair arrived from Next yesterday and it looks lovely, the living room looks so much bigger now! Although the spare sofa is on its end in our spare room now and we need to get rid of it ASAP because it's like an obstacle course in there since we've also got a rocking chair in there that we're trying to offload onto someone! Anyone fancy a rocking chair...?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
That is rubbish about the illness Birdie, what do you think is causing the anxiety? Hope you are feeling a bit better.
I had a dream a couple of nights ago I was at Dinah's wedding hehe, lovely it was too.0 -
Thanks Wendz, I am feeling a little better every day so hopefully I'll back to normal soon! I think I'm just not compatible with the new working conditions; I hate loud noises, my ears/brain actually hurt when its too loud, and it's really noisy in the new office, lots of screechy women shouting for no reason etc and my workspace is tiny, I have a comfort bubble around me that I don't like people (apart from close friends/family) invading and my desk doesn't even cover my bubble, there are people in it in front of and next to me, so I feel on edge all the time because everyone is too close to me! Getting on quite nicely in my little temp office though, it's really helping but it's not permanent and I don't know where I'll be shipped off to next, I don't think my boss realises that I won't be 'cured' in a couple of weeks and go back to where I was!
Lara: I was looking at wedding stuff (what a surprise!) and saw a book themed wedding that made me think of you! They named their tables after their favourite authors and put love quotes by them on the signs and the place cards looked like bookplates, I thought they were lovely little touches that'll suit your library backdrop perfectly!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Oh thanks Birdie, I *love them*! So pretty and a lovely idea for the tables too. Hmm that will be difficult shortlisting the authors though...
Glad you're feeling a bit better. I don't know how anyone is supposed to work in your office with the horrible screeching. That would do my head in! Not surprised you're feeling on edge, I hope your work sort it out properly in a way that you're happy with. My OH had a similar problem and went to the Drs for loads of tests. It happens to him when a project really stresses him out. But he has been feeling better for a while which is good.
You bet I'll be in touch in Uganda, I'm counting on you ladies to stay sane! I won't know anyone so the first few weeks will probably be quite lonely. MSE to the rescue I think.
Wendz what a sweet dream about Dinah, I can't wait to see the piccies when she gets back.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Ah, love the booky wedding! So pretty! I'm still totally jealous of your venue Lara, I don't think there's anything like that up here for when/if OH ever pops the question *roll eyes*
Glad you're feeling better Birdie, I would hate being shunted about though, I hate having to sit at another desk, I'm a creature of habit where things like that are concerned - I hate even sitting in someone else's chair which is a different height!
How is everyone today then? Working hard here and looking forward to sausage and mash tonight. Just found out that the govt-funded programme I co-ordinate has been axed, so although I'm under contract til next September, really don't know what will happen after that. Hopefully the uni will be able to place me elsewhere but there just aren't many jobs going around at the mo. Might be an opportune moment to up sticks to Oz...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
