That's pretty good going for NSDs, how many are you aiming for this month? And how is the house coming along?

Not aiming for any this month - far too much house and wedding stuff to pay for! I don't know how the house is coming along, haven't been able to go along for 2 weeks, looking forward to being repaired enough to go back.

My doctor just signed me off for another month!!! He wanted to do 6 weeks but I told him it couldn't possibly take that long, so he (quote) 'will humour you' and do 4 weeks, but he says its going to be another 6 weeks minimum till I'm back! ARGH! I'll be back for ONE WEEK before going off on honeymoon etc - thats not going to go down overly well!!!!

What did you actually get done to your knee Dinah? My sister got a partial knee replacement and was off from last August til end of May, so 9 months in total and it will take another year or so for the swelling to go completely down. On the other hand a guy in work got keyhole (or as I called it kneehole) surgery and was only off a few weeks. Hope you get back to work soon though!

My wedding dress arrived today, and its a little short, as in I can only wear 2" heels and I usually wear 5", plus I am nowhere near toned enough, my back looks flabby, so my brother has started me on weights to try to tone up a bit.

How come your dress was too short? Did they measure it incorrectly? How annoying for you, you're the one out of all of us who lives in skyscraper heels! You can't wear these now! ;)

Been having a look for low heels out of curiosity and I love online shopping either for me or other people and there's not a lot around the 2" heel mark, it seems that a 'low heel' is 3" and they look odd! I don't like walking in low heels really, I feel a bit wobbly, like my heel's sinking into the ground!

Be patient about healing, you don't want to rush it and not be properly fixed and be Lady Limpsalot for the rest of your life! Have you got physio to do? Make sure you do it if you do!

Great news about the BT, things seem to be working out well! :)
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

I had a lateral release (they cut the muscles on the outside of my kneecap to release it as it was too close to the ball of the knee), and I had the inside of the knee 'cleaned and sanded' to remove a large bump and a lot of little broken bits of cartiledge. All lovely sounding stuff! It was keyhole, but it was not the 30min procedure they thought it would be!

It was short as we ordered the length for 5"5-5"9 - not taking into account with heels I'm about 5"11. Annoying but not the end of the world.

Yep physio once a week, and doing it at home every day. Playing with a giant resistance band and trying not to garrotte myself with it.

Where's Tete? I want to hear about the holiday!

I'm mainly worried about money by being off longer. We should be okay, and its only a few hundred quid, but I'd have liked to be that bit more comfortable going towards the wedding.

I'm here, just mad busy at work - need another holiday already! Menorca was lovely, just the right mix of relaxing-book-reading and trips out, and eating! OH got obsessed by paella so we bought a paellera (paella pan!) and attempted one last night for the Spain match but something went horribly wrong. Managed to finally finish The Amber (effing) Spyglass! I loved it in the end and couldn't put it down, I guess it's just one of those books that you need to have the time to read good chunks of it at a time. Almost finished my subsequent book and am hoping to get a few skinny ones read in the next few weeks, but the No More Books thread seems to have dried up in the time it's taken me to read one book!

I'm giving my diary a bit of a rest I think, I'm soo stressed at work the last thing I need is to be giving myself to-do lists every day. I've already come out in another coldsore since I've been home, as well as mouth ulcers and spots :( I don't get paid enough for this! Off to London tomorrow though for a weekend with the girlies so that should cheer me up a bit.

Another six weeks is a long time, you're REALLY not going to want to go back to work are you?! You'll not be able to remember what you do! Sorry to hear about your cat :( You never know though, animals are tough creatures and it's better to have loved and lost as they say.

Hope everyone is well, the boards are so quiet at the minute, I only had about three pages to catch up on in over a week on here!

I know, I don't know why its so quiet, but it doesn't seem to be just this thread, they're all quiet at the moment.

Glad you had a nice time :)
