Hi all. I'm back. Surgery did not go as planned. It was supposed to take 30 mins, took over 1 hour 30mins, basically my knee was a lot worse than he expected so he needed to do more work on it. Then I reacted badly to the anesthetic so they kept me in overnight. I was released this morning when they were confident I could make it to the loo without fainting or getting so dizzy I'd hit my head off the doorframe! Glad to be home but very out of it on painkillers now.

Hi all, sorry for being awol all weekend, I've been pretty out of it on painkillers. The swelling has started to go down now, which unfortunately seems to make the pain worse. The painkillers have made me a bit slow too - I keep repeating myself and loosing track of a sentence halfway through. Still have the sicknes and dizzyness too. Generally a bit rubbish.

The good news though is we are currently debt free. Our regular savers matured over the weekend, mine has paid off the CC. NIMs has vanished... When it turns up again we're due to pay off the balance of the honeymoon, and we're going to pay £3000 to the venue, which should mean we only have about £900 left in wedding savings, and £1800 to pay the builder. We're paying the venue earlier than needed as if we have savings I can't get any income support while I'm off, and given I've never claimed anything before but I've paid NI for 10 years and I can't afford to eat through my savings and not have enough to pay the venue I don't feel guilty about doing this.

The downside is we do still have £4641 to pay out between the wedding and the house. Taking away how much we are due to save between now and the wedding, we'd have £3251 on the CC by the wedding day, which isn't the end of the world. The limit is £3000 though, so could do with shaving a bit off. I've also paid off the OD atm, that's £1000 - if the worst comes to the worst this will be our honeymoon spending money as we don't currently have a plan for this! I'm probably going to take most of this week 'off', but next week I'll hit ebay with a vengance, try to make up some of the shortfall.

Hi! Sorry the recovery is a bit crummy, you'll be feeling ebtter soon though I'm sure! Have you been told to ice your knee? OH just sat with ice on his for weeks, I couldn't buy a bag a peas without coming home to find it half defrosted on his leg! Try to enjoy your week off from extra money making and concentrate on getting back on your feet!

Good news about being DF and it's very sensible to pay the venue now, at least you know that it's been paid for and you can now claim income support. How long until you're back at work?

I had to work on Saturday due to it being stock take here but they had no work for me so I spent nearly 6 hours pottering about our newly enlarged office after the handy men had ripped out all of the internal walls,so we were cleaning it and sorting out where the furniture had to go since the office has now more or less doubled. Can't believe I got time and a half for that, just because we couldn't go home because someone would have complained! Poor OH had to work yesterday as well so he's worn out but we're looking forward to next month's pay when all the overtime is in there! :money: It used to be a much better pay packet in days gone by because we got a summer bonus, stock take overtime and a payrise all at once, but the bonus has been cancelled and I've heard no sniff of a payrise! I told the manager off about the cancelled bonus when we had a big meeting about it saying that it had been my wedding money but oddly enough he didn't offer to make it up! :o
