I have a chondromalacia patellae which has developed to include a chondral lesion. Basically the lining on the inside of my knee cap should be smooth but its rough and has gone on to tear. The treatment is 6 weeks of physio, which has a 50-50 chance of improving it it seems, and if it doesn't then I need keyhole surgery.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I was  until you explained what it was! Hopefully you're in the camp that sees an improvement with the physio treatment as keyhole surgery doesn't sound nice at all. If you did have to go down the surgery route, would that definitely solve the problem?ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
Just reading that made my knee hurt
Atleast you have a reason to it and possible solution now! I'll keep my fingers crossed with the physio. Is that how long they've signed you off again for?
They just keep extending it! I next see the consultant on the 14th May, so at least until then. I'm going to have made a LOT of cards for mum to sell in that time I think! (or gotten a long way into the Sims!).dippykitty wrote: »I was  until you explained what it was! I didn't think to ask to be honest! I hope so, I'll have to find someone to ask.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Same really. I'm nervous about physio as I can't bend my knee at all if I have to support the weight of the foot, I can only do it if it is rested on something. Oh well I guess thats what its for!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Right, it's been a while since I challenged myself. As of yesterday I know two things, firstly what is wrong with my knee, and secondly I'm going to be stuck at home at least another 6 weeks. So I am going to use these 6 weeks to challenge myself to do three things. Firstly I am going to read my three business books I have been meaning to read to understand the ins and outs of setting up the cupcake business.
Secondly I am going to make a quilt. This is something I have always wanted to do, and I have no idea how to! I don't know if I have a book on it, hopefully I do.
Finally I aim to make 30 cards. This will probably be the first thing I tackle, so mum can take them to school.
I've sort of accepted today that the painting isn't going to make any money. It's a hobby I enjoy, but I'm going to focus on my more tangible skills for the meanwhile.
I don't even have any valid entries to the giveaway on my blog, so I'm thinking about taking it down as its clearly not drumming up the interest I had hoped!
When I was at sewing class this week the teacher had a machine set up on the higher desk so you stood up to use it. I actually found this a lot easier on my knee. My desk at home is one of the high ones with a stool under it, although higher than the one at class, so I'm considering seeing if my machine will be at a workable height on it, and if so I can have it permenantly set up there.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
