Thanks for all the advise! I have heard from other people about the Egyptian men as well so will look out for that.
We are going with OH's friends who have been to the hotel before so at least we know it is good as they liked it. I have been reading Trip Advisor, looks like people had very differing opinions but that always seems to be the way.
Taxi to Sharm will be a bit cheaper between four as well. We are All Inclusive so at least that will save us money on the drinking. We are hoping to do some trips and the boat one sounds lovely!0 -
We were hoping to go up to Cairo for a day or two, but its a 12 hour coach trip, and we decided it just wasn't worth it. We went to Mount Sinai too, some of my photos are here if you're interested xDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Ohh sorry. You have an amazing one to look forward to though. A wedding too and I am very wedding broody!0

I'm not sure I can get it into my head that there will be a wedding. Do you ever get that? Where you don't believe something is going to happen and therefore almost block it out? I get to the day the thing is happening, or it starts happening, and it seems so surreal I'm in too much of a daze to enjoy it. I fear thats how I'm going to be with the wedding.
The honeymoon is definately a dream holiday, and oddly I have no real issues imagining it - I guess thats because I have photos of the resort and I can easily imagine me on holiday because I've done it, but I can't picture the wedding because the big white dress center of attention thing has always been my worst nightmare, its only in the last couple of years I've had even close to the self confidence to do it, so I just hope I can get my head around the whole 'I'm getting married thing' before I actually am!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oi, no frowning! You're going on the best holiday ever!
I get what you mean about blocking stuff out. I do it with things I'm really nervous about though, like with my theory test. I kind of blanked the date I was taking it. Just remember the day as a total haze, bumbling along. Getting married is a massive thing though and something you wait most of your life for, so I can understand it not feeling like it's going to happen. I'm sure the it'll come into focus and start feeling 'real' soon.
Wendz - I'm not 100% sure where we're going. I'm letting OH pick as it's his idea. Thinking it'll be somewhere in Yorkshire as that's where he used to go camping. Your holiday sounds lovely though, kind of jealous at the thought of all these hot holidays but I know I'd turn into an angry frizzy mess if I were going0 -
I get the whole blocking things out thing but oddly my wedding isn't one of those things I block out! I can't wait for it! I'm kind of working in small timescales to get there sooner- only 4 months until my dress comes in, 9 months until it is fitted, 11 months until we go! :j OH is excited too which is really nice, I always thought I'd be dragging him down the aisle! He had a dream on Friday that he was waiting on the beach and a plane flew by which caused a wave with a sonic boom and I wakeboarded off the back of the plane over the wave to land in position on the beach with my hair and dress still perfect! He's convinced that this is how I must arrive now! :rotfl:
I'm feeling super holiday broody too... oh well, only 11 months to go... Our friends have asked us if we fancy going camping but it really isn't our thing! We'd rather stay at home! Think we're having a night in Alnwick in the summer for our annual holiday!
I feel really proud of myself today as yesterday I went to town on our spare room and threw out loads of stuff! I moved a bit of furniture around a created a little dressing table for me and I'm going to get some sticky hooks after work and hang my handbags on the wall- I think OH has given up trying to keep it 'manly', he didn't even blink when he saw that some more Barbies had made it on display! Mwahaha! All I have to do now is sort out the Craft Desk of Doom! This could take all week!

Hello, just caught up! Good news about the depoist Dinah and even though you have a shortfall at least you know what it is now and can focus on it. Even if you do end up using the £3k CC, at your savings rate it'll be paid off in a couple of months anyway. If you can't start married life debt free, at worst you could aim for starting 2011 DF?
Yes, I know exactly what you mean about not being able to picture things and then it being surreal!!
Mmmm, I'm getting holiday broody tooOH keeps talking about these cheap AI deals to Mexico and even says he'll pay (!) so we'll see if that ever materialises! Seriously looking at Italy in May for a few days but a proper sun holiday would be good too!

This made me laugh - I'm very in love with OH but still want to bop him on the nose when he wakes me up in the night wanting a glass of water
ETA - Birdie that would have to be Wedding Entrance of the Century if you pulled that off haha! We're hoping for a night or two in Alnwick/Alnmouth too this year - have you seen the Treehouse Restaurant?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Oooh that looks good Tete! I might have to drag OH there for lunch! We're going to go to this little cafe/restaurant place in Alnwick on the evening where we went last time and it was the best steak ever! I can't even remember what the place was called but I know what it looked like! I hope it's still there!
OH wants to go to Alnwick castle and find the Golden Snitch in the gardens! He's going to be going around whistling the Harry Potter music all day, I know it!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
