Lol sit still long enough you'll find you and Max have a label on!
I get really stroppy in a messy environment, can't wait to have a full house so I can spread out a bit, I even get stressed by books not all being the same angle on a bookcase, I don't suit restrictive space.
Well we briefly got to £1046 on the CC, unfortunately the house survey cost a lot more than I realised, I thought it was £750 total, but it was £750 plus £320 for valuation survey. Then NIM needed road tax. And God knows what else has gone on the CC because its now at £2325. ARGH!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

We booked the survey yesterday, and it will be undertaken this Thursday. We get the report 7 days later, so things seem to be progressing. I'm still nervous about whether the deposit will appear, but NIM says its 99% certain we will, and NIMs mum said 30k, I assume thats euros, but thats still more than we expected and if that is how much they are thinking that would take a lot of pressure off us.
Trying to remain positive, even with the newly huge balance we're still just over halfway towards clearing it.... but I don't have anything left to sell really other than about 20 pieces of clothing, certainly nothing thats £2k worth!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I'm with Dinah on this one! I can't stand things being messy, or slightly out of place. I function much better when everything's neat!
Sounds like a complete pain about CC! I suppose one good part is that at least you know it wasn't run up just buying crap you didn't need, and it was all unavoidable. You'll get it down soon enough, you always do! How's it all going with the house anyways?
Just been given the dates for our Easter holiday this year - 10 days off!!Going to start trying to plan things to do *rubs chin*

I'm just very aware we need a lot more money than we have to sort the house and wedding out. The plan is to try to get a 0% balance transfer card once we own the house, so we can transfer the balance over and stop paying interest, then that also takes a lot of the pressure off as they usually give a year to pay it off. If we don't get a 0% card, things will be harder but I'm sure we'll find a way through somehow.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

ohhh exciting Cinny, 10 days off! Let us know your plans, so i can get all jealous
Oh no Dinah, thats pretty high on your CC! I'm sure with all this time off work you can shift a fair bit off of it. Maybe another challenge is in order?
I am pretty much at square one with Dooyoo once my points clear and i can claim this cheque. Need to do a few reviews or i will lose all hope!0 -
Noooo I'm doing REALLY badly at challenges atm. The book one to only buy 5 this year? Yeah, yesterday I completely cracked on The Book People and went on a major book binge and bought 8.
Gizzi's Kitchen Magic
Cook Smart
How to clean anything
Popina book of baking
Eat me! The self-raising world of cupcakes
Tagine's & Couscous
Antony makes it easy
Grow your own veg
Did I need any of them? No. It was just a complete impulse buy because I was panicing about money and every so often I fall back into my old ways and do a bit of an ostrich impression.
Then there is the diet challenge. Where I have hit a wall. NIM, mum and I have decided to all go on a diet together, starting next week, the day after NIMs appraisal at work. So NIM ordered the book so we know what we are doing but right now my food is all over the place.
I think I underestimated how loosing dooyoo would put me in a flunk. It was only £1 or so a day, but it was a morale boost that I was always moving forward.
Yesterday I went through all the survey sites we do, and made a list of how close we are to payout. Almost all of them are within 15% of payout level, which is positive. I'm also refreshing onepoll several times a day so making at least 70p a day off there (if anyone wants refering, pm me your email addy - its the best survey site imo, lots of very quick 10p 2 min surveys, just log on and check it whenever you have a free few mins)
I recieved 'In the Red' as a RISI swap the other day, and I'm staggered, this lady clears about half the amount of debt I did in 1/4 more time! She's a good writter, makes it funny, but it really has got me thinking. The thing that concerns me though is I could never put my name to the book because of my ex, and I couldn't really miss out how I got to this position. I don't know anything about publishing, but maybe if there was any chance of getting published it would be worth trying to organise my ramblings and story into some kind of book and see if anyone would be interested.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I won't be up to much! Might drag my Mum out to some National Trust houses and when OH isn't working go on to the seaside, or on a couple walks.
Dinah - There are still a lot of places offering 0% balance transfers so I'm sure you'll find one! As for making the extra 2k, I'll pop my thinking cap on. Or just cross my fingers and wish really hard that another promo like BingoBritain comes up!
The writing your story sounds like a good idea, I mean - you've managed to keep us lot coming back most days for the past year or so!
and although you might not have needed the books.. they do look pretty good!
In a bad mood today. My sister is on the edge of breaking up with her boyfriend and I feel awful for thinking it's a selfish thing to do. I'm normally always on my sisters side, but I can't do it this time and feel really guilty!0 -
Why do you think it's selfish for her to break up with him? Is he going through a bad time? My number one rule is the worst relationship sin is staying around out of pity, you're wasting two people's time if you know there is no future in it.
Another bingo britain would be great. NIM is supposed to be starting MB-ing since he's the mathsy one of the two of us, that would net us a few grand, which would be nice. I have 3 or 4 paintings to do today, which can then be photographed and uploaded to Etsy, fingers crossed they're popular. They're not my usual fare of people so I'm a bit nervous.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Why do you think it's selfish for her to break up with him?
Just the way she's going about it, I think selfish was the wrong word but she's just leading her boyfriend on. They went on a break last week, and since he's been trying really hard to get things good again and she's just throwing them back in his face. Plus she's started texting and going on what are basically double dates with this new guy, and last night when we were watching Glee was more than happy to text him but as soon as her boyfriend rang she cut him off. I just don't get what she's up to. It's not like it's a short relationship either, it's been about 2 and a half years.
Plus I think I'm a bit bias, as her boyfriend is going through the same problems my OH did last year (money and family problems!) But where as I stuck by OH and helped him work through it, she's just angry with him for not being 'fun enough'. I dunno! Plus she keeps on fake crying (like when kids scrunch their faces up, but no tears) which piddles me off.
Oooooo, looking forward to seeing the new paintings!! I really love all your work, and the photography too. Worried my room is going to become a Dinah-Art-Shrine!
The MB-ing would be great, I keep on trying to get OH into that but he refuses and I can't get my head around it!0
