Our company don't have any car sharing schemes, well, certainly not in place here anyway. We don't have to pay for parking though so it's all good.

You're right about the overtime really, when I first started in this job I was doing about 10 hours overtime a week and came home with about £50 at the the end of it all. But still it's £50 I didn't have!

I'm going to make an effort to sort out the spare room this weekend and regain my crafting space. Maybe if I have somewhere nice to work I'll feel more inspired and start making things again! It'll be a nice way to unwind too!

Maybe this is the way to go Birdie. Instead of having a set Saturday job, set aside some set time, don't do anything else like tidying up or watching tv, treat it like a real job, and set yourself aside to make things you can sell on Etsy or somewhere.

Birdie maybe you could put some of the crafty things you make on Etsy too? I'm sure Dinah could give you some tips :D

You have shamed me into doing something about my money too, i've lost momentum because i've got no income. I need to work 100% harder.
We will have to have some sort of ebay/dooyoo challenge :rotfl:

ETA: Dinah beat me to the idea!

I totally agree with that, it's juat that when I did the overtime that time I did full weekends and even at time and a half I was only coming out with about £30 extra or something ridiculous and I wished I hadn't bothered! You have to weigh it up is all.

Yeah, I know people who have a second job working about 16 hours a week in a supermarket and they take home about £60-70 after tax... for all of that extra work and not being able to take time for themselves it seems like madness!

I'd love to make things to sell; have a few ideas floating around in my head but I've not actually done anything crafty since about October last year, I'm really stuck in a creative funk! I didn't even make Christmas cards for the first time in about 5 years!

I'm up for a Dooyoo challenge! First to 50,000 miles gets a paper hat! How many are you up to now? I've got 13110!

Haha, I'm at about 23000 at the mo, want to get to 25000 then redeem my vouchers. I know what you mean though Lulu, I've stopped writing such long reviews, especially since my points were taken off me, I wanted to build them back up as quick as possible!

I know, but I get carried away and I don't want just 'useful' rates! I was typing away feverishly last night on my latest one and OH was like, 'What are you writing? Do you get paid per word or something?!' When I explained how it works he asked why I don't just write 160 word reviews and do more... but it just doesn't work that way!
