Sorry Tete missed a bit there, definately think you should try peddling some wares on Etsy. It's only 20c (so about 10p) to list each item for 3 months, so I think its worth taking a punt on sticking a few items up there, at worst you loose £2 or £3! One thing I learnt from reading the forums though was upload at least 5-10 items at first, shops with 1 or 2 items only don't make sales. So start building up some stock!

Aye NIM came in and said 'Tete had to give Bu a jump' and I said 'don't you mean the other way round?!'

I know, when I saw him standing there I thought we were all gonna be stranded!

Yeah I might think about making a couple of little bits, you never know do you? How much extra can you earn before you get Moira Stewart hiding in the cupboard?

My camera was dead last night so I couldn't take any pictures for ebay darn it! Battery will be charged up now so can take photos tonight, going to root through my Barbie stash and sell the ones I don't mind parting with. OH was scandalised when I told him that I was doing it though, he doesn't want me getting rid of things I'll regret 'losing' but they're only dolls and I'll keep the really special ones so I don't mind. Also got some other clothing and such to put on... although what's the best way to post a satin evening dress without it getting all creased and nasty? I don't want any hassle from niggly buyers!

Your nails look lovely Cinny! I'm getting mine done tonight, I found an old gift voucher that'll cover the cost so I'm going to have nice gel nails put on.

I'm up to £16.70 on Amazon after fees. Yay!

Did you face the budgets and total up the debt last night Birdie? And talk to OH about increasing contributions to joint account so you can afford the wedding?

Sounds like you're getting a good start Birdie! As for selling the dolls, once you've cleared you debt and paid for the wedding theres nothing stopping you re-purchasing the ones you miss most! (that was my theory when I sold my Blythes, never bought them back though!)

Picked the place for OHs birthday dinner tomorrow, Chiquitos! We've never been before and it looks scrummy. Adding to the excitment now! (it's bad when you get excited about other peoples birthdays isn't it?!)

Well OH has been through the accounts and is speaking to BT to cut down our bill and he's speaking to his health insurance company as they've put his premium up without telling him so it's costing about £90 a month! Not on, so he's getting that cut down or if they can't reduce it, cancelled and looking elsewhere. He really does need some cover as he's in hospital more often that not and it was invaluable when he was off work last year. Everything else is as low as it can be bills wise and we're going to cut down majorly on food shopping. He's very excited about having a £5 weekend where we buy whatever food we can for £5 and make it last all weekend. I'm going to York dress shopping with my friend as I really don't want to miss it but I'm not going out with her in the evening as she was begging me to do and we're going somewhere for a sandwich for lunch so I'll just stick to some cheap filling soup! OH offered to make me a packed lunch, bless him! Think that would look a bit odd though!

I've started car sharing with a colleague who works the same hours as me and actually passes my door on his way to work so I'll be spending less on petrol. He says he doesn't want petrol money but I'm going to try to give him something so it's a real arrangement and not 'charity' as he lives out in the sticks and we can't take it it turns to drive.

Debt today stands at : CC1 £762.36 CC2 £732.16 and I owe my Mum £4000! Eeek! CC2 will be getting £300 knocked off it next Friday once some cheques clear and we've been paid.

I should have more money next month to throw into wedding savings and debt busting, OH is going to be more frugal and put what's left over at the end of the month towards the wedding. Looking ahead to June we'll have £1350-£1400 to put towards the wedding because as we get paid 4-weekly we get a bill free paycheck as all DDs come out monthly. We should also be getting an extra £200+ each in July's paycheck thanks to Stock Take which requires us to be in work over one weekend in June, one day at time and a half and the other at double time. I'm also asking about the possibility of extra work on saturday mornings sorting out our back-log of work but it depends when the rest of the business is actually working on saturdays (some weeks they do, some weeks they don't) as there are rules about lone-working, especially out in the warehouse!

Feeling much more positive today, was just on a downer yesterday!

Sorry to hear about your car troubles Dinah! Your plan sounds like a good one though for getting the new one.

Birdie - good to see you are feeling more positive about everything. Sounds like you have some good ideas there to make and save a bit of extra money. I am debating whether to put a few more bits on ebay.

Cinny - hair getting done every month sounds lovely. I haven't had mine cut since October eek! Really must get that done next month.

You sound a lot more positive Birdie, that was a fab post to read though! I'd think carefully about doing the Saturday mornings, I know when I've done bits of overtime before in previous jobs it hasn't been worth losing my weekend for after tax, and that was without using petrol to get there.

I know what you mean, I'd want to give your lift man a little something as he's doing you a huge favour, maybe a bottle of wine or some chocs every so often as a thank you? Make sure he's claiming anything from any car share schemes your company might have; for example at mine we have to pay £12 a month parking (as space is a premium here) but if we car share this is halved. I DO car share but unfortunately not with someone who works at the same place!

Your debt's not as bad as I thought, you'll have those CCs paid off in no time, obviously your mum will take longer but I assume she's interest free and would wait until after the wedding even so you don't increase your debt paying for that? How much are you planning to save for the wedding?

Sounds like you and OH are working together on it now though which is the main thing :)
