  • Days to payday: 17

    Money in bank: £172.86
    Money in purse: £17.10
    Grand Total: £189.96

    Savings pots:
    Car Stuff: £223.53
    Fun & Nice Stuff: £57.44
    Gifts: £67.06
    Household Stuff: £89.40
    Total: £437.43

    Today's spends: £-43.39

Woohoo. Realised when I was doing my sums that I had actually written down twice the amount to be paid off my Tesco CC! Once I had written Tesco CC and the second time I had put My CC, so I actually have £52 more in the bank than I thought. It makes sense because even I was surprised how quickly I had got through my wage! It feels like a monopoly card; "bank error in your favour, collect £52" hee hee. I may possibly even not go overdrawn as I have £129 left for food with two full weeks left.

£4.95 - Slimming World subs. Lost 1lb taking me to 6.5lbs in three weeks.
£3.50 - breakfast in a box this morning (SW friendly)
£1.00 - entry into a 'guess the baby's weight' sweepstake.

    Car Stuff:

    Household Stuff: £89.40

Will have to take £33 out of my Fun & Nice stuff account to pay the remainder of my Take That ticket (whoop whoop). Paid a £50 deposit a few months ago, and remainder due on Monday. Have also booked to see The Script and nice man in charge has said I can buy one ticket from my wage in November, and the other in December.

Have found DS2 Xmas Present which is going to cost £149 (foldable 6ft pool table). I keep asking DS1 what he wants and he said he doesn't know. I said if that's how he carries on, he'll find himself getting no presents and just an envelope of money and he said he was fine with that.

Don't know if you'd consider it, but there seem to be a bunch of used folding pool tables on Ebay. Just a thought :)

Good idea from Slipper there. £149 is an @rseload of money when you don't have it.
  • Oooh I'll have a looksie at Ebay!

I'VE GOT A JOB INTERVIEW! The closing date was today, I applied for it 16 days ago when it was advertised and the manager rang me to say she had shortlisted today and would like to invite me to interview.

It's £2500 less than what I am currently getting which, if I don't pay into a pension until my loan is paid off, which is £65 per less a month than I am currently getting. The salary didn't have a bracket merely that number (£17288) and it's a private company, which I have never worked for before, so I'm not sure if there would be payrises each year, or whether that's what I would always get plus a cost of living increase??

Or do you think I should stay put (I already found out my actualjob is redundant) although they are going to create some new positions there's no guarantee that I will get one...

I hate having to make decisions.

    Woo for the job interview!

Only you can decide what to do, but if you know your job is going to be going then you have to think very seriously about what's going to happen if you have no income at all. Do you get any kind of redundancy package at all?
  • I get the equivalent of 5 weeks' wages which is statutory redundancy pay and works out at around £1900

  • Days to payday: 15 (whoops, didnt get around to updating yesterday)

    Money in bank: £96.88
    Money in purse: £38.30
    Grand Total: £135.18

    Savings pots:
    Car Stuff: £223.53
Fun & Nice Stuff: £34.64 (am deciding to leave the Take That money in here til cheque clears, might go overdrawn on this next month)
    Gifts: £67.06
    Household Stuff: £89.40
    Total: £414.63

    Spends over last two days:
    £6.00 - Football Practice (Friday x 2)
£22.80 - total spends at Halloween party last night.
£41.78 - Groceries at Morrisons. Really annoyed with this total because I just seem to have got sod all for it. I only went down for pop, sandwich stuff, a few extra treats for the kids' treats tin, summat quick for tonight's tea, and sweets for the halloweeners. I shouldn't be spending so much at Morrisons on a regular basis. I need to get organised and menu plan, and eat what's nice to eat, not what I would like to eat.
£57.00 - DH Petrol. Not sure how much it was as I can't find the receipt. GRR.

Oi Floozie..... your spendy elves are here...... they're attempting to make me part with a ludicrous amount of wonga so that OH stops waffling on about Call of Duty Black Ops. Him shut away zapping things is infinately preferable to him pointing out how much he'd like to be shut away shooting things.

Meanwhile v. randomly I discovered that whist i can't double up my clubcard points to purchase the aforementioned game they are valid on Mr Ts pool tables...

Will not slap tham about a bit in the hopes that they don't frog march me to Sainsburys to purchase said game.
Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.50
