Oh dear, I've spent all of my overtime before I've even earnt it. Today I put on my CC , 2 tickets to see Brian Adams who is coming to my local town. I didn't think I would be able to get tickets but managed to get really good seats. That was £102, so along with the £95.20 on the Uggs (which have still not been delivered) that's the equivalent of all of my twenty hours overtime!!!!! (and I have only actually worked seven hours as of now)

    Where are you hiding?

Are you practising the lyrics for your forthcoming gig by Waking up The Neighbours?

LOL - No, nothing like that I just haven't been able to get on the PC for the rest of the family wanting it. I've been all work and no play though, no irrational spending!

(I think I might also have some more money to come off the above too as I wrote a cheque that hasn't come out yet)

Hello peeps - am back!!! Well I know at first glance my figures look really good having only spent a few quid in nearly two weeks, but IT'S A LIE!!! I've ended up having to put the 'non every day stuff' money into the current account as thanks to not keeping a track on my spending I ended up £25 overdrawn.

Although I've ended up having to sub DH £70!! Well - I say sub, I actually mean GIVE. I can't believe he ran out of money two weeks before payday and that was including £30 extra money that someone gave him for fixing their computer. I know I said if it happened to him I would say 'Tough' but I felt so guilty about my spending lately that I didn't feel I was able to preach. Anyway I'm drawing a line here ____________________ and starting again!

As you will see from the above posts I just cannot get near the laptop these days because of the kids. DH has got a 'girlfriend' although thankfully they only seem to communicate via MSN, facebook or texting but it all adds to the time he wants the computer. When DS2 sees DS1 on it, he decides HE must have the computer too. I've been saying for ages that we 'want' a second computer but kept putting it off, but yesterday when I was actually forced to do some housework as I couldn't get on the computer, I decided enough was enough and we bought a netbook / notebook whatever they are called for £199. I did get a £10 Argos giftcard back as it was the last day of their promotion so felt it was the most MSE way.

I've been spending a fair bit on the credit cards too, which usually happens when I stop posting on here. I have no justification for this either (am cringing while writing this so will keep it short and sweet).

DH didn't even get an interview for that job. I made him ring up two weeks after the closing date and he was told 'the standard of applicants was very high as was the number of applicants so we had to be very brutal in our whittling down and as we had a number who had used the computer system we use before we are only interviewing those applicants at the moment' - fairy nuff I suppose.

However it's looking likely that a payrise maybe in the pipeline as his boss has employed some sales people to sell 'something' (a bit technical for me but it involves phone systems for business use) and DH did a guinea pig install last week that went well and the business involved were highly delighted with it, so his boss now wants him to be 'project manager' for all others that they do and as they are countrywide it could involve him travelling etc...not sure how much of a wage rise he's talking about but every £1k extra per year is £55 per month extra. Not sure when he'll find out either. I think his boss is waiting to see how many sales the salespeople can close before he makes a firm decision. Although saying that, for any payrise, I think DH will insist on extra pocket money for himself as £200 per month simply isn't enough for all the bottles of wine he needs to drink or cigarettes he needs to smoke (GRRRRRRRRRR). I suppose I should think myself lucky that he never buys clothes, CDs, DVDs etc shouldn't I? Imagine how much he would cost me then.

Gifts account now stands at £197.97 + £23.90 in gravy tin. Judging from conversations I have been hearing DS1 may want an i-Pod touch, and DS2 wants a DSi but I daredn't buy them yet in case they change their minds.

Also had a revelation about the diet. I'm 35 on my next birthday and I saw a lady in her fifties the other day, very overweight, having to stop every few yards to catch her breath, hugely swollen ankles, and I dont want to end up like that (bearing in mind Asthma, as well as FH of diabetes). This is the first time I have ever wanted to lose weight for health reasons, it's always been vanity, so hopefully I might stick to it this time. I'm going to try and stick to three healthy meals per day plus one small naughty treat. Do you think that will work if I stick to it in the long run?

    Really?

Hi IF!! I think sensible healthy meals are the way forward and you have to have a little treat or it will all get too much and you will end up gorging! (or at least I do!) I really do need to start exercising more - well at least I am thinking about it! :rotfl:
