Glad you enjoyed the party Floozie. Shame about the budget but what's done is done. You must keep up your spending diary and resist the temptation to have a s*d it momemnt. Just spend on absolute essentials until payday and start working on your March budget now.
  • Awww it's good to hear from people who have been there, done that!!!

I'm not going to take my debit card out with me (except for a big grocery shop)) because it doesn't feel like real money, whereas I hate handing cash out.

  • Oh for goodness sake, I'm gonna be overdrawn in my bills account by about £100 AND my spends account!! How the chuff did that happen??? I really need to learn about spreadsheets!!!

Sent off loan paperwork today so hopefully it should be in my account by the end of the week.

got a surprise when I rang e-sure to pay my car insurance, despite the renewals letter stating it was £643, I was told it had DECREASED to £621!!! I spluttered "Eh? how come?" and was told 'as we send them out a month before renewal date, they can go up and down, and luckily yours has gone down". I'm not complaining but if it had gone up I would have had a bloodlust warpath frenzy, gone to watchdog, office of fair trading etc....

    Spends since yesterday:
    £1.50 - tea fund
£1.90 - sandwich @ lunchtime (not my fault - accidentally left dinner in the fridge)
    £58(??) - petrol (can't remember the pence)
    £19(??) - Groceries (inc word search book for DS2 @ £1.60 - BAH!!!)

Will do a proper money post when DH is back at work tomorrow. He's been off sick tomorrow but he doesn't get paid for it so has had to use his one full day's holiday that he has left until the end of the month.

Cousin's wife had a baby girl today so I'll have to find a card to congratulate them. Thats three family babies now in three months!

On the bright side £100 overdrawn is much much better than the overdraft you had a while back. Its a blip but a temporary one. Onwards and upwards albeit a bit like being on a helter skelter.

  • Hello people of the internet. Have no idea how much money I've got left in my purse, how much money I haven't got left in the bank, haven't a clue how many days left til pay day and I haven't done a single click or survey this week at all!

I'm just about to print off all internet banking from payday to now to see why I am so overdrawn in both accounts and see if I can make sense of it.

Sent the loan papers off to A&L and had a letter back today dated 2nd March saying they had received them and paid them into my HSBC account so I should see the money there in 2-4 days. There's nothing in there as of yet but hopefully it should come in the next couple of days.

DH is - off his own back without me nagging - applying for another job! It's £19599 annual wage BUT it's supporting schools IT systems so it's term time only plus two weeks. Would I be right in thinking he will get paid for 39 weeks term time PLUS two weeks PLUS five weeks paid holiday (or four) ie 45 or 46 weeks pay out of 52 weeks? In which case it would make it £16900-£17200 PA? (which is around £2k more than he gets at the moment). I'm particularly excited about the term time only part as it'd mean I wouldn't have to run myself into the ground to make up stupid amounts of flexi to have time off during the hols. He phoned them up today to speak to the guy, who seemed really enthusiastic about DH's past experience and said he would make sure he definitely got an interview so fingers crossed!

I had another request from GFK to complete a survey every day next week for internet, radio & TV useage and in return I get a £5 love 2 shop voucher so I have signed myself up for that.

I've got a mystery shop to do on Saturday at a mobile phone shop, I get a tenner because it's a more in-depth enquiry. I'm not really looking forward to it but it's a tenner.

Got paid out £6.37 from Quidco this week, which has gone to my gifts fund which is now bubbling away nicely at £143.61 + copper jar.

Right - off to have my eyes boggled by the banking

    Hey Flooz,

I hope you don't lose sight of your goals! You've had a blip, but the bounce back is always fun - can see you're doing that anyway!

I work in a school, and an I.T technician myself! I think if it's advertised as that annual wage - then it should be as shown. Sounds about right for the job he'll be doing, even if it is only during term time. I think! Lol.

    Good to see you around again! ^^;

Hola! If the school IT contract is anything like the term time only workers at school then the money offered is the money you're paid. You don't get a holiday allowance (because you get 10 weeks of school hols each year plus bank hols) and the contract states unless exceptional circumstances we expect you to be here every day the school is open. Loadsawonga. Fingers crossed.
