We're not all doing this as it is effectively ripping off a charity to the tune of £600.
I've had 600 tokens and have given most of them to my local schools to distribute to their parents. I've given some to family and will be buying some quick reads as birthday gifts.
I think using the odd one or two in tesco is probably just about acceptable but 600 is not.
I suppose you can put them on ebay as it is buyer beware but even that is a bit mean as everyone can download them for nothing.
I'm all for money saving and I don't see anything wrong with using tokens in Tesco when the voucher is for a multi-national product as they already have huge profit margins but taking money from charity is just not on in my book. (if you'll pardon the pun)7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
I have 2 Rainbows and 1 Brownies group that I know of so I'll give some out then, but I still have about 100 left. The bookshop and the library aren't interested. Any more suggestions?0

I think you'll find people always thank those that try to help others.
IMHO this is a genuine attempt at improving poor literacy levels which has been hijacked by the 'get-something-for-nothing' brigade.
We all like a bargain, but not at the expense of initiatives like this. Sorry about the long words.0 -

I have an ASDA right near me, but the thought of defrauding a charity makes my conscience !!!!! me severely. I have given 400 bookmarks and £1 tokens to school. Given some vouchers to friends (to buy books with), given some vouchers and the pens, pencils etc to Rainbows and Brownies groups and given the rest of the vouchers to a church for people to pick up if they want them.0

i took my lot of vouchers and stuff (must admit i robbed a few pens for myself!) to streetwise, i gave them out at drama and then sent them for the drop-in to be handed out there too.
i noticed today that quickreads are only £1.99 in asda, so i treated myself to a book for 99p

as for asking for thanks, thats a bit cheap dont you think?
and saying you need to put food in your kids mouths, if youre really that destitue arent there any benefits youre entitled to? if you really need to spend £600 of a charities money on food, i think you could look for a different charirty which is aimed at helping families below teh poverty line.:T The best things in life are FREE! :T0
