Todays recipe was a real success, lovely - just like take away ribs according to my DS http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/517430 The stir fry didn't work at all though, but the Pork, yumm - we used slices and added the honey to the marinade mix.0

Adapted Tana Ramsay's sausage casserole tonight. Scaled ingredients down for 2. Didn't use chorizo, used bacon instead of pancetta and added a few new potatoes and a carrot too. I also put it in the oven for a while instead of just on the hob because I could forget about it when doing other things. It was really good, a nice adult casserole as a change from the baked bean/tomato sauce one I used to do when children were at home.0 -
ok first new recipe i tried was indian salmon fish cakes and they really where yummy ill post the recipe in the morning0

Hi
can i join please....
i need to try something different as all to often cook the same things week after week.. all to easy to just shove meat and veg and and tinned toms into a casserole and bung in the oven ....
So once a week i am going to try something new....so yesterday i cooked a new meal - prompted by not having any yeast for bread..
homemade onion bhaji's, chicken, mushroom and butternut squash korma, with rice and homemade chappati's..
DS 4 and DD5 loved the korma and the chappatis so that was a great compliment :j
i need to think about what new thing to try next week....

ooh, I want to eat at Penelope Penguin's house!
Haven't had time to do the brioche pizzas yet - we ended up on emergency plumbing duty at in-laws, so had salmon & smoked cheese/ leek mash for tea. Can't claim it as new because I cooked it before. Also, set a "new" 5-seeded loaf recipe off in the breadmaker yesterday, but when I got home the seed flap hadn't opened properly and all the seeds were still in the top. Made a lovely loaf with no seeds though!
Hopefully, I'll have more time over the weekend.0 -
PP - Let me know if you need me to post the EG Salmon and Corn Chowder recipe. You'll need to have made your salmon stock before you start, using the following:
Head/Bones of Salmon
100ml white wine
1 peeled onion in quarters
2 (broken into two) celery sticks
1 whole chilli
3 peeled cloves of garlic left whole
2 halved carrots
5 peppercorns
1.5 litres water0 -
Next weeks recipes for me will be this minus the mushrooms. The week after I must try and use a recipe I have here rather than on there
I do love that website though!
