Does anyone have a recipe for using up some crunchy peanut butter in biscuits/cookies?

Asda have changed their smartprice peanut butter and it's rank, really oily. I thought I'd bake with it.

I've added your thread to our main one on making peanut butter cookies. You'll find more recipes on this thread too:

I am trying to empty my fridge completely and start again (long overdue) and have found a 1/4 jar of peanut butter at the back and wondered if it could be made into peanut butter buscuits? What else would I need to put with it apart from flour and some odd extra peanuts and sugar and what amounts. Any ideas would be gratefully recieved, I hate throwing things away.

You can have a chefs recipe from here:

For myself I am an optimist - there does not seem to be much use being anything else.

sounds good, thanks, will try unless anything else comes in, not too many other ingredients needed which is very good.
  • I have a vegan recipe that uses sugar, veg oil, and flour. It is a bit crumbly. It is along the lines of this one:

    Hi Mrs Skint here
This isn't quite that simple--but it's just one mixing bowl and it keeps my kids busy. And you get lots of cookies.

    BEST PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES

    8OZ/250G smooth peanut butter
    40z/125g dark brown sugar
    4oz/125g white sugar
    4oz/125g butter, softened
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
    6oz/175g plain flour, sifted
    1 tsp vanilla essence

Cream butter and sugars together. Beat in egg, peanut butter, and soda. Blend in flour and lastly the vanilla.

Now the fun part for small boys. roll the dough into golf ball sized balls, and place on prepared baking trays--I always go for baking paper--leaving plenty of space between for spreading. Take a fork and cross-hatch the dough balls, flattening slightly.

Bake at 180C/350F/Gasmark4 for about 8-10 min until slightly brown at edges.

Depending on how much raw dough the kids eat during the ball rolling part, you should get 3-4 dozen.

I'm planning on preparing this week as I'm 37weeks pregnant....could I follow this recipe & freeze them when baked do you think?
