It's a fab idea to go round the house and list what needs doing. Then you can chip away at it xx

Another one who thinks  to him having a cleaner. Honestly

  • When you're in £23k of debt (definitely more since he left as he has a car on finance and has taken catalogues out) why not pay a cleaner???

It frustrates me but then its not my problem any more.
The thing is DD and him are barely at home in the week due to long work/school hours so the house gets messy but not dirty.
He could easily tidy his house in a max of 2 hours on a Saturday but why do that when you can pay a cleaner???

It was one of his annoying things when we were married, he hated housework and 99% was left to me - occasionally he would hoover but thats only because he could actually see what he had accomplished....

At least now the mess in my house is my mess and ocasionally the kids:rotfl:

Happy New Year EE and good you don't need to think about your STBEx's debt or mess anymore. Not easy I guess though as your DD still lives with him and his mental health issues must be worrying for her and presumably for you too. You cannot control what he does though so all you can do is deal with whatever his actions are. Hope 2019 is a good one for you.
