Hope your girls weekend goes well.
Glad DH is still going to work. Let's hope the doctors find the route cause of his ill health.
Keep chipping away at the debts, and try not to go down the bankruptcy route. It really made life tricky for me. Although I now do have credit cards etc etc. But I've not tried for a mortgage or loan. I don't want to borrow any more at the moment.
Have you Read Rich Dad, Poor Dad? Or Rich Woman? American books but quite inspiring?
Certainly making me look at my money differently! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I have read some of the American books and still have them in my bedside drawer - maybe I need to read them again?
Girls weekend went really well - not too spendy in the grand scheme of things but more than I would normally spend in a month on going out (well a year really as I never go out!!)
Need to get back in the zone for June as need to get my life on track.
Only managed 13 NSD's in May - target was 16.
Have done my budget for June, realised I am too late to change s/o to son so once that goes tomorrow I will get him to log on and transfer me back the money I overpaid.
Not sure whether to use the extra to pay back DH in super quick time or whether I should pay one of my c/c's extra each month - both DH and c/c are interest free - no real benefit to paying it back early but I just want to get rid of the debt as need to buy our house.0 -

If all are interest free then pay the extra towards clearing the one with the least balance. Once that is cleared you can snowball the payments onto the next.
It really does work.
Don't beat yourself up about NSD's.
I never succeed if I give myself a target, and the stress is too high.
Instead I just try to keep spends down within the budget. As long as I can send funds across to my savings account the day before payday I'm happy.
Enjoying yourself with friends is a good tonic. It's not a huge deal to spend a little more then you wanted too if you can still pay your other bills. It's a treat afterall.
Be kinder on yourself EE.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi EE,
One of the things that bring me joy (I love elephants too and have a little collection (only about a dozen items) handmade, bought a long time ago on a holiday in Asia

That is gorgeous NOA.
I have collected various elephant bits from England (usually zoo's and gift shops) but when we went to Sri Lanka on our honeymoon I brought some hand carved elephants - one of them weighed 2stone!!! Luckily we were not over our baggage allowance on the way home!!0 -
Hi EE
It took me a while but I am through catching up on your diary
I wish that you'd be kinder to yourself. I can't believe how much you do, and how much you've been through. I do sometimes wonder if we are leading parallel lives because there are so many similar things that have happened.
Subscribed and up to date - come on missus. We can do this together! Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Bless you for reading my whole diary - no wonder you needed a break away last week:rotfl:
When I read your diary and think blinkin heck that happened to me and I post I do wonder if people think I am making it up but then this diary is testament to my life since 2010.
I need to get my debts sorted this year although won't clear Barclaycard by then as it is too big but will be able to be well on the way.
Still not sure what DH is going to do as his debts are so excessive - he is saving quite a bit of money but some of that is his disability money he gets which we save for private treatment and if he has days off work due to ill health where he does not get paid then this covers those days so need to keep that money to hand.0 -
