oh yeah - forgot to say - I followed some advice on what to wear that suited me etc.

Meant I decluttered my clothes...too much.

I now literally have very very little to wear. NOT A GOOD IDEA. Especially when I put the clothes I did keep and even my children look at me in silence when I casually ask if it looks ok!!! :D

So I've been trying to fit in cheapie clothes buying into the grocery budget (as with CCCS we get 30 quid for the three of us for clothes and shoes, and that goes in a blink with the kids growing like fabulous weeds!).

Not such an intelligent move, although the clothes did nothing for me, they did at least cover my body and meant I had a choice in what to wear!!

I over de-cluttered my clothes when OH left me.....to the point that I had very little left. I went to buy new undies in debenhams, asked to be measured for a bra, and was told to go into the changing rooms to strip down to my current bra, to which I burst into tears and said "I don't have one anymore"!! Poor sales girl! :rotfl:

As for the cats - try cleaning with Jeyes fluid. I have heard that it keeps them away from those areas.

Re the exam marking money - I would definitely keep it for summer holiday activities - would mean you get a lovely relaxed time over the hols -the kids will love it, and if you didn't have the work in, you wouldn't be making an extra payment to the debt.

I know that there have been plenty of times where I have paid every extra penny to the debt. But I have learned that there is a balance to be had, and that £600 extra income as a one off, is a perfect way of achieving that balance. All my extra teaching money (not that I do more than half a dozen or so days a year) is allocated for fun money, whether treating myself to a new bag, or having days out.....it is soooo much better than overpaying on a debt that is reducing of its own accord :o

Thanks Hypno - that's reassuring to know I'm not the only one who's done it! :)

The cat is limping again - he was limping on friday but got better over the weekend (completely better, not limping at all, no flinching when touched etc). Now is limping again.

I'm going to wait a few hours and then I guess it's time to go lose some money I don't have. I am finding it hard to have much love for him right now, but of course I don't want him in pain.

ON the MSE front - going to menu plan today and try to get some more decluttering/sorting/cleaning stuff.

Sitting here now with bleach and cat wee alternativey wafting past. So I'm just letting the mopping dry and I'm wiping down with zoflora.

Do you have to buy Jeyes from places like B&Q or can you get it from the supermarket?

I found more stuff ruined by the spray and got upset again. I'm moving everything up off the bottom levels of the bookcases (as much as I can without it being dangerous) but am beginning to despair. I close doors when I leave the house etc. but can't keep them shut out of the actual house, and it's not fair on the other cat. He's been nothing but trouble really - lots of accidents caused by fighting which have resulted in hefty vets fees, and he's not an affectionate cat, just rather dim. Which is awful to say, I do love cats (you wouldn't bloody think it though eh?!!) just not this one.
I got him (and the other one) from an animal sanctuary and can't bear the idea of having to return him - had him for about 20 months now. Not so much that I'd miss him, just doubt whether they'd be able to rehome him and it seems really mean. I did consider those sprays you can get like felaway but would literally have to treat the whole house (he manage to get on the side and spray over the microwave INTO A SPOON mainly - hence my constant cleaning, DD now coming into the kitchen and other rooms and takes a deep breath and goes 'bleach?').

Anyway, will try not to moan about it anymore(for the time being).
Nice day, most spent cleaning (not the regular stuff, that still needs doing) and listening to Pearl Jam :)

Hope you all had a lovely day

    hi all :)

Just quickly sneaking on at work...

fell asleep last night after reading the kids their bedtime story and then woke up and felt dreadful - should have just stayed in bed rather than get up and try to do stuff!!

Need to sort out the house tonight - seems when house is messy, I don't eat well, spend on stuff I don't need to and then stay up late doing things I don't need to do...therefore being tired the next day and the whole cycle continuing. Not good at all.

Sounds like your boy needs to be done. That will stop him spraying. Or else talk to the vets? He might be stressed or something? There is a cat destress diffuser you can get, which really works. I just can't remember what it is called. Can you limit the cats to one room when you are out? Ie where the cat flap is. That way they can shelter when it is raining, but not have the run of the place.

Nice to see you back. I did wonder where you were. And well done on the debt reduction more than half way now! I nice one

Oh he's been done- over 2 years ago! Am looking into the sprays etc. but there are mixed reviews on whether they work or not for spraying...trying to be nice to him!

Yep...another 10,300-ish on the DMP and then 1000 to a friend (car fixing last year) and then 1050 to my mother... so getting there slowly :)

Whether slowly or not - you are getting there, and that is the main thing!

FWIW, I think you are doing brilliantly :T
