The spare room is almost clear and....

    I. Am. Done. With. Cleaning.

Tired now! Tomorrow the redecoration of the spare room begins :D Papa Fresian has declared that the wallpaper is in good nick and therefore only needs painting, saving me pennies, so hurrah for that. We need to buy a bed and a wardrobe, but are going to look at the British Heart Foundation furniture shop first and work our way up from there. Also needed are curtains for the spare room and ours. Funtimes!

Mama and Papa Fresian are now safely on their way to their hotel room and have left me with a care package! I now have:

    • LOTS of lamb including chops, shank and gigots taking up all the room in the freezer
    • Lythe (fish) in the freezer
    • 2 bottle of Fairy Liquid
    • 480 teabags
    • One jar homemade marmalade
    • One jar homemade jam
    • Five packets of biscuits
    • Handwash
    • Deodorant
    • Five big boxes of Special K
    • Homemade spongecake
    • Homemade fudge
There are probably other things but those are the highlights! My mum started giving me care packages when I left home for uni at the tender age of 17, and has never gotten out of the habit. She would be really offended if I told her not to! It's worked out well this time as we're nearly out of teabags and washing up liquid - my breakfasts are now sorted for the forseeable future too :D

Right, going to check if there are bargains on paint anywhere then go to bed. Night all!
  • hi f f

    Good morning all!

I'm in work just now (Thankfully away from the decorating mayhem!) getting some overtime. I had the day all planned out and came in to an email from my boss saying "I don't know what you have planned so do this MASSIVE piece of work for me." Grrr.....I forgot my iPod too *d'oh*

Yesterday was chaos - we ended up doing the following things:

    1. Dropped stuff off at the charity shop
    2. Visit to charity furniture place to look for "new" bed for the spare room - cheapest nice one was £250
    3. Visting the Bed Shed and just buying a new bed. £340 :eek: but Papa Fresian is putting £100 towards it. It's going in our room and ours will go in the spare room
    4. Visting carpet showroom but putting my foot down at spending £350 on a new carpet
    5. Visiting Tesco THREE TIMES (Once to buy dinner, second time to get baking supplies for Mama Fresian and third time to see if anyone had handed in the laptop bag she left on the back of her trolley. They hadn't )
    6. Going to B&Q to buy paint - 7.5 litres for £7.50 :j
    7. Cursing Papa Fresian for spilling paint on the old sh*tty carpet, new one now needed. Don't need underlay though, saving £110 ;)
    8. Cooking dinner for all the Fresians

    I'm tired today :rotfl:

Also thinking about leaving the cost of the new bed on my credit card (0% for 12 months) and paying it off next month if I get a bonus from work....that way it won't come out of the debt fund which will upset me.

If I don't get a bonus it will come from the debt fund as expected.

The rest of the (imaginary) bonus will go on our trip to York.

    What do we think Internets?

Parents are fab. Mine have stopped donating food parcels and started kidnapping the DDs instead.

Oh yes, especially when the handover point is a restaurant at which Papa moo pays and Granny moo returns the DDs with bags of clean ironed clothing. Roll on Thursday!
