  • Ewww, hope the quiche isn't too toxic!

I totally get what you mean about charities.... The ones that really bug me are the ones that jump on you in the street or knock on your door... One was round here at 8am on a Sat morning, needless to say I took great pleasure in telling him that I wouldn't be setting up a DD with them because my bank account had been shut down and I was soon to be evicted... he soon left!

I support charities as and when I can, either by buying/donating to the charity shops, and through work where we do fundraising stuff with customers (I give my time, not cash)

Well done on the ebay sales, and usuing Mr F as post office man :D

£2.70 for a sodding cheese and ham baguette.....

Went to Morrisons and got what I needed (margarine and olive oil) at good prices, then got 4 small garlic baguettes for the freezer (44p each reduced to 12p each) and some scotch pies for Mr Fresian (£1.67 reduced to 12p!)

Only other spend today was 50p towards the charity funday.

Dinner is nearly ready - organic pork chops (Ooh, posh!) that were reduced from £4.40 to £1.10. I struggle to understand how people can pay that for each meal....

I think it'd be £3 odd in my work canteen now... I haven't bought it in months so not 100 % sure - it was £2.95 6 months ago and they've put the prices up again since then. I have a stash of couscous in my filing cabinet instead if I forgot my lunch / have to work late / lunch tastes rubbish!

I bought cupasoups to keep at work but they're still in the cupboard at home. I will put them in my handbag tonight so that such a travesty doesn't happen again...!
  • I raided the 99p shop today and bought various odds and sods, then nipped to the local supermarcado to get some CupASoups, though being a DEVOUT MSE'r I obviously bought the low cost own brand. To hell with calorie counting. Let the bank balance and waistline gain some much needed increases. Well, truth be told, the waistline can do without it...... but its desperate measures?!

    Morning all!

    So far I have received:

£72.88 in Ebay sales (minus Paypal fees of course)

    and I have paid out:

    £16.16 in postage
    £9.66 in Ebay fees (Urgh)

which means I am in profit by £47.06 at the moment, but I have three more things to post. I suppose that any money is ok *grudges fees*

I have no money-spending plans for today as I have enough milk and bread to last at least until tomorrow and will be bringing my own (non-quiche!) lunch with me today. I even resisted buying more No7 facewipes last night and will give me leftover £5 voucher to my boss.

Mr Fresian is posting more items for me today (Gawd bless him!) and also making roast chicken for dinner, so he is getting 1,000,000 brownie points from me today :D

I had better go and get ready for work - annual appraisal today and probably shouldn't be late :A
  • Hi Flying Fresian

I have come across some vouchers for food here - I won them ages ago and have given lots away to family already. OH doesn't eat alot of the things unfortunatley but I thought I could send a couple to you if you PM me your address? It will give me a chance to say thank you for your kindness with the diary and butter codes.

It should help with your grocery challenge and I've still lots left here. I was umming and ahhing about offering them to you as I didn't want to sound cheeky but just mean this as a kind gesture to say thank you and to help out a fellow MSE'r in the world of debt busting.

You are doing fab with your challenges and will do even better with the extra income from your new lodger when they arrive. Hope your appraisal went well.

PM sent about the vouchers, thank you very much!!

Appraisal went about as well as I expected it to. Unless you discover a cure for cancer in this place you're just going to get an ok rating. I suppose it makes me determined to get out quicker :(

Feeling quite deflated now so going to have a biscuit and prepare for my next meeting.
