Turns out I have more teatowels than fit in the drawer, I just don't think they have ever all been clean at the same time before :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Time to throw some of them out I think - would they go in with clothing for recycling or just in the bin?
Cut them in half for dusters or floor rags. I managed to get many out of an old Benetton Duvet cover yesterday. Husky even pinched one to spruce up her crate - spring clean fever!:A Let us be grateful to people who make us happy: they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. Marcel Proust :A0 -
Ahhhhh The Sound of Music - what a classic!!
I think when I was younger most kids were watching Nightmare on Elm Street (I watched it aged 21 and was v scared. I'm still traumatised by the man in the wardrobe in Saw! I still check my wardrobes before I go to sleep....) I was watching The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins and anything with Cary Grant in. Awww they don't make them like that anymore...
I think I've gone off thread a bit now - not even sure what my point was??!!
Anyway YAY for The Sound of Music!!

Worst nights sleep EVER as I woke up at 4am and didn't get back to sleep for an hour due to back-to-work anxiety. I really need a new job.
CV is all done, I just don't know the best way to go about finding a new one as I've worked for the same company for seven and a half years. Looking internally is pointless as people who're at risk of redundancy get preference (understandably) I think this would be easier if I had the faintest clue of what I wanted to do with my life. I could honestly weep, but I think all that was done at 4am
Another load of washing is on (It was a fine idea to load the machine last night so I could put it on by pressing the button on my way to the kettle!)
I'm going to have £279.96 outstanding on my credit card by the time my refunds go into my account and have a little bit more than this in the account set aside for my credit card spending so that will go to an additional PAD. I have paid £18.80 as a PAD today as I got some forgotten about work expenses through.
My live on 8k challenge is beginning to scare meOnce all the bills are off, the food is paid for etc I am supposed to use.....£24.99 (!!) for everything else. I have used £11 so far this month from that budget  I think it's meant to balance out over the year, but £25 per month isn't a lot, especially as I haven't set myself a budget for clothing/haircuts. If anyone knows a hairdresser in Edinburgh needing someone to practice on, please let me know!

It's a royal pain in the a$$ when you don't have a car and when the evil local kids steal your recycling buckets...:rotfl:
WAYHAY!!! I can come in useful. There was an article in our local paper which was an interview with the manager of a charity shop. She said anything not fit to be put out for sale, got bundled up and sold to a rag merchant.
Not sure how you are for charity shops, but you can go in and collect bags, and then ring them and ask them to collect (however the local kids may get there first, little sods)Start Date: 27/11/2010

hope your day at work is better than expected, fresian - i'm sure many of us know first hand the awful feeling of hating a job but having to go in anyway...
one of the best days of my life (quite seriously!) was when i worked out that going back to work after DS2 was born would LOSE us  a fair chunk of money each month due to nursery fees and having to work school hours only (bascially having to pay for full day at nursery but only being able to work 6 hours)...and discovering that the only viable option was to be a stay at home mum for a while and watch the pennies. that's when i got really interested in this site. i hated that job so much it had made me ill. DS2 is hard work a lot of the time, but will be forever known as my golden ticketMortgage free as of 11/11/15 !
:Anow... to start some serious saving :A

As a lurker on here, what about the hairdressing dept of a college? I think Telford might do hairdressing. I used to work in a college and the prices were v low for student-done haircuts! You could ask for a 2nd yr, maybe an apprentice, so they have had more experience.
Good luck with your challenge- I'm full of admiration!

Hi F_F, found your diary the other day but just got a chance to sit and read! I had a huge toiletry list on my last diary and haven't used much. Motivated to do an inventory of cupboards and fridge/freezer, I'm always wasting food. *subscribes*0
