CONGRATULATIONS on the frugal wedding Kittiej. Your day sounded lovely and you have all the happiness that people who spend tens of thousands on weddings do. I'm going to mentally store your post fore future reference.

NualaBuala Yes you can make rolls with ordinary plain flour. The only difference I've found is that you need to knead it for a little longer. Hope that helps.
There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.

Thanks Chika, that's brilliant! :T I found I really enjoyed the kneading although my arm did get tired after a while.

Kittie, your day sounds lovely. I wouldn't like all the fuss and hassle of the average wedding - all that stress and expense!
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

    Congratulations KittieJ,
_party__party__party_All the best to you and hubby. I had a frugal wedding as well, but not as frugal as yours, well done. xx

Cheryl, I hope the 'date that's not a date', goes really well. I can't wait for the update after you go, I'm sure it will be a great success.

I am at a loose end this weekend, so I will have to do some housework as well, this place is minging. I keep threatening to do it, but I will need to, it is bugging me now.

I have lots to do, but can't be bothered, so will need to get a shift on and make a frulist, which is things to keep me busy without spending anything, therefore, it is entertainment of sorts. After the housework is done (it may take me more than a day as deep cleaning is required), I want to do some hobby stuff: more cooking, some knitting and defo back into the garden.

I might give myself a couple of tasks everyday, even if there is a simple one it's always something off the list, then when that is done, I can enjoy myself doing hobbies. I was tempted to buy some wool, but I have banned myself from this until the clean up is completed.

Hope everyone is well, will check in later. xx

So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Not sure about frugal - not something I've asked....yet :rotfl:

But he does recycle whatever he can (including what he has to take to the supermarket collection points 'cos his council doesn't collect), and would love to live on a small-holding and live off the land...... so it sounds like he's heading in the right direction :D

What a great idea, living on a small-holding!

So, you'll have to forgive me, but is this a date or not a date? I'm getting confused a little bit.

Even if a great friendship grows, then that can be good foundations for something further to develop :)

Gosh I feel such a nosey so-and-so :rotfl:
Karma - the consequences of ones acts."It's OK to falter otherwise how will you know what success feels like?"1 debt v 100 days £2000
  • Ohh err chez, sound great, sounds like he has frugalling potential in his blood already with the recycling and the small holding is a bonus.... Have a great time, I'm assuming frugal women have to be in high demand as most men hate a gold digger, Tell a man you can live on 4k a year and there will be a whole gaggle of then queing up round the corner, Maybe I should put an ad in or place it on a profile somewhere,

"Lady looking for friendship leading to posible LTR,
Many good qualities including wholesome cooking,
non shopaholic and the willpower to run the household
    on 4k per year"...
Oh why didn't I think of this before!!!
Only downfall is how do you write
"can always make something out of nothing"
    and make that sound attractive!!!

It's a "date that's not a date", in that we're meeting to see how we get on 'in person' before deciding where to go from there :)

Doesn't stop me being nervous about it though unknown.gif
