Edaniels, I'm sorry to hear about your mother in law. I know from experience how hard it is to organise funerals but you are doing a wonderful thing to help your father in law in his time of need. I hope you get some support to help you cope with it.

Meg, how terribly sad that your son died. I'm so very sorry to hear that, my heart goes out to you. I can't imagine how much you must be going through. Lean on others as much as you can and take extra good care of yourself. Virtual love and hugs being sent your way.

I've been reading all your posts and my, you are all doing so well! I have not spent a lot but my home cooking and baking has not been going great this week as I'm not doing great depression-wise and my energy levels are non-existent. Haven't done any of the house stuff that needs doing either but not going to beat myself up over it.

I was in town today and managed not to buy anything unplanned or extravagant. Unless you count The Art of Crochet mag I'd wanted - I figured it was ok to buy the first one for €1.50 as it has 2 small balls of yarn, a hook and an instruction DVD as well as the mag. I was pleased to get my big 5L bottle of white vinegar for €4.50 instead of the usual €5 - that will keep me going for ages although I use it for absolutely everything; fabric conditioner, hair conditioner, cleaning. Will start using it as dishwasher rinse aid too when the current bottle runs out.

Frozen veggie pizza for dinner as I just cannot face cooking and forgot to take anything out of the freezer.:o

Hope you all have a lovely frugal evening!

Edit: Best of luck SF although I'm sure you don't need it!
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Hope you're OK after your slip Candygirl. We now have fog as well as plenty of snow left on the ground. I'm having a spend day and taking the bus home from work.

I tried signing up for LETS but had no response from my email - I guess our local group doesn't exist any more.

That got me thinking, maybe I'll try that too. I already use it for cleaning certain things, but usually my fabric conditioner and hair conditioner is the cheap stuff from Mr T, but I guess if even cheaper vinegar does the same job.

P.S. Just checked destilled white vinegar isn't actually that much cheaper than the conditioners I buy especially when I get them on offer, but I might try it anyway

Glad you're okay Candygirl, even if your pride is a little dented :D

Caught up, some great links everyone so thanks! :T I do love the wealth of information you get on here, awesome!

I just need to make an announcement - my lovely friend BB, and your lovely friend too, is an absolute genius and deserves lots of celebration today. I'll let her tell you (or not) why that is but please do congratulate her regardless :D

Today I've driven for miles, to take my CV into a school I'm interested in but unfortunately, despite there being no kids in, they were too busy to show me around  Still, something may come of it, we shall see... Trying to get to the school I had the interview for too while I'm back, but TBH I'm not really worrying about job hunting til I get back now.

Seeing the cottage again has renewed my love of it, so I'm going to see where that leads when we get back too...

In the meantime though, I have lots of catching up with people to do over the next few days - friends tonight, my brother, wife and son over the weekend (my nephew is now 6 months old, last saw him at 2 days old ) and more friends. On Monday we are registering our intent for the marriage :D Sadly the land hasn't worked out but we're looking into other options.

Right, enough wibble from me - I'm getting lots of headaches at the mo so going for a rest x

I think I'm going to have to think about getting a dolly trolley but I know the kids will be mortified and I don't want to be laughed at :o - are there any other 30-somethings on here that have one, do you get giggled at? :o:confused:

I've a friend (in her late 20s :p) who has a funky multicoloured one. :rotfl: Not got one myself but I have on occasion been spotted in Asda (~30min walk each way from my flat) with my travel bag (on wheels). I think that was possibly more embarrasing - I got so many stares but managed to get loads of heavy stuff bought without having to resort to a taxi to get home! :T :rotfl:

SF - I hope your test is going well.

Errrrmmmm... congratulations BB  Now what exactly am I congratulating you over? I'm nosey!:rotfl:
