car clamping - can they do this?

Anyhow, why not simply report the car stolen and thus get a replacement car/cash from insurer to buy a new one??
That, is an excellent question...0 -
Friend of mine who owns a small workshop had the problem of people parking on the land beside it which he owned. He put up signs warning people not to park on his land but they were ignored.
The strange thing is drivers will happily ignore warnings not to park somewhere but complain when action is taken.
The action my friend took was to get 3 cars he was in the process of breaking for parts and using a fork lift he boxed in the offending motorist who had parked illegally. Since the cars he used had no wheels, in fact one had no axles, there was no way they were moving anywhere.
The driver came grovelling that he was blocked in, friend pointed out it was not his problem. He had trespassed on private land and "abandoned" his property (car) there. 1 week later the 3 "roadblock" cars had been vandalised but of no consequence really and finally we lifted one out of the way, car gone by morning, nobody parks there anymore.
So, think about it. Park on private land and you might get clamped and have to pay a fine. Or, you might find your car trapped for a week

If you get clamped you can legally remove it if you do not damage it, if they protest call the police to watch, but if you have been parking on somebody elses property for ages without being clamped maybe you should think of yourself as lucky for getting away with it for so long, if you parked on my private property repeatedly i would clamp you without hesitation, ignorance of the law is no excuse0
