Yeh it's really worth it, I go twice a week. I watch most films that are out (then put the ones I like on my list for b-days/christmas so I don't have to buy them

So I only pay £13.50 ,but if i didn't have the card it would cost me £56.80 :00 -
Noselfdiscipline wrote: »Thats an interesting observation! Have you read "Your Money Or Your Life" by Joe Dominguez? He says we spend money on "Escape entertainment" to decompress after spending all day in jobs we may not like. However, I just think I lack self discipline! If I see something I want, I just buy it!
I am reading it as we speak! :rotfl:
Have you done the calculations that the book suggests yet?0 -

No, but Ive read the book 4 times now, I read it when I need a bit of a gee up on the discipline front.Debt at 1/1/11 £7,049.75, now £6,682.12 at 9/3/110 -
do the calculations!! The book tells you to!
And be honest when you do, really thinking how things would be different if you didn't have to work. Would you be needing to spend so much on escape entertainments? If not, then that needs to be added to the cost of working. You earn a good wage, but I would think your wage per hour will be quite low after taking out the cost of working? 0 -
I am keep a diary now. Now I went to TESCO and bought some sweets, soup, a meal etc. Did you just write down TESCO or whatever? Or did you list each item on a small shop what you got?0

£169.34 - DVD Rental
£584.71 - DVD's/Blu Rays
£246.33 - Video Games
£20.60 - Cinema
We have Tesco DVD rental, they do it via Lovefilm though I don't know how the prices compare. But if you buy a year upfront, one disc at a time, it's about £75. We watch 1-2 films a week, so basically £1 a film. Bargain. They also do computer games.
Not sure why people are thinking that Virgin Media is anything to do with films - it's an internet provider.0 -
Wow that is impressive you managed to keep track of everything. Well done.
Maybe looking back you can now reduce some of them outgoings and xxx
