I love this. I have just started a dfw diary and I am determined to tackle my debts. I am definitely going to start a spending diary now. Main problem is my husband who is useless with money!! Going to convert him one day ;)
Proud to be dealing with my debts,

  • OK Ive got a blank version of my spreadsheet, for the whole year, if you want one, PM me your email address and I'll send it to you. You may need to tweak it though, your spending categories might be very different to mine. But you can see the simple formulas etc, and perhaps even suggest improvements.

    Great idea and well done!

My OH could do with something like this - he sees it, wants it and buys it. He has no idea how to manage money and we're moving in together in June!

You will have a PM shortly ;)

If there is a cineworld near you register for the unlimited card at £13.50 a month (£162py) it works out alot cheaper than what your spending on renting DVD's/BluRays, also you can use the card for orange wednesdays so take a mate for free :)

Some good tips there! Can you explain this one a bit more, how do you get to take someone for free?

NSD as others have said I definately think you are going to have to change your name to Muchous Self Discipline.
Orange Wednesday are when you text orange and get a free ticket for a mate on Wednesday. A lot of cinemas do it. Presumabely you can count the card as a ticket.

If I'm at work I just write it on a post it note. The trick is to update it every day, dont leave it for the end of the week or you will get lost. Also, if you go out on the pop, its easy to work out next day what you spent, just count your change and work backwards!

    Hi,
Just text orange for a 2for1 ticket and your unlimited card is classed as the paying ticket. (txt FILM to 241 - orange sim cards)

When you get to the cinema on a wednesday say you have the 241 text and they will ask you for the code orange will have text you...thats it, your unlimited card is swiped and you get a ticket and then your mate will get one too.

I go every wednesday with a mate, I pay my £13.50 a month and she goes free.
So as it cost £7.10 a ticket, I only have to go twice a month to make up the £13.50 I pay and she saves £28.40 :j)

If you haven't got a orange sim card, go to their website and get one for free, it costs about 25-35p for the text ticket, but if you register the sim they give you a few quid, which will cover quite a few texts.

    Dear
    Thank you for your email.
I am happy to confirm that you can use you Unlimited card in conjunction with Orange 241 to obtain a free ticket.
    Kind Regards
