Probably. Either way I have no time for it anymore :o

Anyway, did I not miss out on any gossip then? :D

Dunno, I spent most of last night ferrying aunts half way round Scotland. Having said that you couldn't have made the conversations up.

Aunt A (pressing damp kleenex to her nose) Oh I hate this time of year, I soooo miss my Jimmy.

Aunt B (hugging sister to her ample bosom) Be strong A, it is hard for all of us. Why if it wasn't for the snug little bungalow and the inflation proof final salary pension my Matt left me, life wouldn't be worth living.

Aunt C We need a little holiday to cheer us all up. Wageslave, here's my house keys, nip round to mine and fetch the brochures......

I saw a lot of wee last night.

Boris didn't spend as much on fireworks this year either..over in under 10 mins..Ken always spent a lot more. I am sure it was 20 mins 2 years ago.

Anyway, found cousin and his wife and they were in culture shock.
He left UK when he was 8.

They closed Waterloo station at midnight and the crowds just backed up so we went down a side st and sat on a wall to wait.....and saw so many drunk people and so much weeing in the street...I mean there was wee everywhere.

    Gross.

Ended up walking to London Bridge to get tube home....looks great up there, loads of new developments and refurbs.

A pretty mixed night then! Can't make my mind up whether it was worth it or not!!

DH has gone mad and booked County Hall, for next year, already.

I do believe you're right and they did used to last 20 mins - the fireworks that is - that's mean or is it just good economic sense?

After the bells had rung, we did Auld Lang Syne (sp? can't be beggered at this time of the morning) then went outside to greet any neighbours...found none but saw a light on in a family friends house so scooted up there to wish her and her great grandchildren a Happy New year....quick chat, she gave us a bottle of bubbly (hic!) and we got back to my parents house.

And was amazed the fireworks were still going!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I am glad we did it..I like the buzz but cousin did ask where all ''The English People '' are. I think I can write that without sounding too Daily Mail/White Horse.

I think the ''English people'' were in County Hall or on boat parties.
We were the only ones on the bridge for sure.

Next year? The way this board makes th economy sound, you'll be lucky to get 3 mins of fireworks.:D

Hm, Misskools hangover must be severe, I'm sure she's supposed to have closed this thread by now.

While we're on the autobiographical stuff, I went to the SCG today to watch day 1 of Aus vs Pak.

I was going to write up the match report but I'll leave that to the Lahore Post and the Sydney Morning Herald. Suffice to say it was more like The Oval in late October than Sydney in High Summer. The Aussies were all out for 127 with Pak 17 without loss in reply.

Lunch was excellent (one of my finer attempts at a cricket picnic) and washed down with a couple of cold VBs.

Now I see SA are 3 down before scoring 60 runs against a resurgent Eng.

Bring on the Ashes next year! There's nothing like the cricket to bring out the patriot in this ex-patriot.
