OK, basically there is nothing on TV and I've started on the bubbles.
Interesting or unusual facts or something to talk about
Did you know adding a pinch of salt when making up fresh ground coffee makes it taste less bitter?
I'll lock this thread tomorrow am

One night only? Since when has anybody here ever kept to any imposed rule??
Fact: The word queueing has the most consecutive vowels in the English language.0 -
It's easier to impose the rule when I can close the thread.
oh, the shame.0 -
Misskool could you please move this thread to The Arms? Oh, wait a minu...
I like the fact that an atom is made up of a nucleus, a couple of very small bits flying about and not a lot else. Imagine that an atom was the size of St Pauls Cathedral - the nucleus would then be the relative size of a 9v battery floating in the middle and a couple of flys buzzing about would be relative in size to the small bits flying about.
As humans are made up of atoms, we are therefore 99.9% empty space. In fact, if you took all the space out of humans (this would be painful and quite difficult, so needs to remain theoretical) and just had the mass left over, you could fit the entire mass of the human race in a matchbox.
I read that in a book, so it must be true.

i'm full of hot air most of the time.0 -
I'm desperately trying to think up some obscure fact but I just can't!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I never knew that about coffee misskool, I might try it.
NYE tv is terrible, why no films? I never understand all the retrospectives either ....not for me.
I'm cooking for tomorrow's fancy lunch.Have made up some florentines I'm not very happy with and bracing myself to go and finish a tart.
Does my boob fact from earlier count as sufficient for obscure fact submissions?0 -
