Hi
Sorry if this isnt the best place to post this, just point me in the correct direction if it isnt.
My girlfriend and i would like to go to vegas after xmas this year, and stay for as long as possible within our budget between 28/12/2010 - 03/01/2010. Ive done a bit of searching on Lastminute.com and websites like this but wondered if there is a better way to get the best deal? I would like 4* and have about £1200 to spend on flights and accomodation if thats possible. Flying from London.
Many thanks
Carl
Is that £1200 each? Doubt flights are avaialble for less than £600, and new year is the most expensive time.....the prices start to rise on about 29th Dec.illegitimi non carborundum0 -

I'm off to Vegas again in April same as you and I agree MGM is very expensive in April. Even the Twitter rate is expensive. - I'm going from April 24th for 7 nights.
Monte Carlo is cheap if you use this promotion code.

I then see that all the convertibles listed are PT cruisers !? I hope that this is because all the decent looking cars i.e. mustangs have been allocated, and not because this is a change to their fleet. Anyone picked up a soft top from Dollar recently and can help calm my nerves ?
We did exactly the same thing for Sept this year, booked through Netflights for a Star convertible Mustang for collection from the Bellagio office on the 14th. When we arrived at the office, the receptionist said they had completely run out of convertibles in anything across the city, we had to have a Ford Explorer which was like a bus and nothing like any convertible! Was v v cross and am currently sending receipts for extra petrol used (and claiming half my payment back) through Netflights at the moment.
Having said this, it is now nearly the end of October and it may be different and they have plenty now the summer is over?
Hope you get it!KimmyCustard :j0 -

Yes i am also hoping that as i am picking the car up at 10 am on a thursday morning I will stand a better chance , then say a friday evening.0 -
MarchThey can and do oversell planes. They will ask for volunteers with an incentive eg 50,000 miles to change dates. Then if not enough volunteers, they pick on some poor sods with a wedding to go to!!!
I've never seen a miles only offer for a bump-It's always vouchers for future travel -and it's rare *someone* doesn't pick up on the offer.
Best I've seen was £1000 on a LHR DTT with NW on Good Friday a couple of years ago usually it's more like £300-£400 though.
We picked up a nice one flying home from NYC. We were booked on the 9pm flight and took $500 each in future travel and seats on the next flight two and a half hours later-as it was an overnight flight didn't really make any odds. Juggling those vouchers around with a few miles already collected meant two of us flew to Vegas for nothing next trip
I'll sometimes build in bump possibilities eg I'm looking at a trip to NYC at the moment -I want to fly back in the evening so I'll book on say the 8pm flight-knowing there is a fallback of the 10pm flight if bumps are in the offing-I also make sure I check to see if a flight looks like it may be overbooked before going to the airport and check what possible alternatives exist so I can say Yes to a bump IF I can be accomadated on XXX flight instead rather than say yes and then discover there's no sensible alternatives.
I got put in business last summer flying from NYC to London as the flight was overbooked and I have status with Delta.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
