From memory the US ticketmaster site wont accept a UK credit card even if you get that far.

I rang the MGM concierge who booked me 3 tickets for KA at the discounted rate and I could sit wherever I liked

Ah, that's interesting. We want to see Ka but on the offer I could only get front section row F or something to come up. Then the next problem would have been paying on the ticketmaster site then - didn't realise that!

    I might just try calling!

Can someone tell me which seats would be best and I'll have a go at booking

    Have a look here:

    http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/en/~/media/shows/ka/pdf/KA_Seating.pdf

    Enlarge to 200%.

You can then see the seat numbers.

If it were me I would go for the further back seats...we sat in 101, row D seats 11 and 12 and felt they were too close.

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Not sure as I haven't tried it before...you could always take the free shuttle back to the airport and then take the bus as pebbles recommends.

But according to Avis' website they do have strip locations.

Palazzo, Venetian, Planet Hollywood I think based on the addresses (not sure if Palazzo and Venetian are the same one - different addresses on the Avis site).

Oh, and make sure you will not get hit with a one-way fee.

That's extremely odd - on avis.com I can see there are other locations in Las Vegas, but on avis.co.uk the only option seems to be the airport. Dropping off somewhere on the strip would definately be easier so I'll have to have another look into this and see if I can figure out the reason for the difference - maybe I've done something wrong somewhere. Thanks for the heads up

Ah yes, it was me doing something wrong - I've found the non-airport sites now! That should work out much easier...I thought it was strange that they didn't have any locations on the strip. In my defense, they don't list it under "Avis Rental Locations" so it is slightly confusing!

I think most here book flights and hotel separately...a few have gotten good package deals but I think mainly through the big operators...maybe you'll be lucky though. :)

Have you looked at prices booking flights and hotel separately to compare to the package quote? The strip is very close to the airport so transfers aren't really a big deal (it's one of the reasons people seem to give for liking to book packages so that's why I mention it).

I had a look and yes, that is a bit confusing, they certainly could have made it a bit easier!

I can never get the TicketMaster site to accept my log in details if it's a discount link. They work fine on a full price link though.

I just call the box office and ask for the offer and haven't had a problem yet.
