That's a fair point but I think once people get used to visiting ONE place for all deals it would be a lot easier. If I wanted to start looking for a deal now for a hotel in October, I wouldn't really know where to start on this thread - actually, it would be Page 1 !

Just wondering how long most of you go for to vegas?

I originally thought 12 nights but someone I know (who incidentally hated it) said this would be far too long and keeps trying to put me off all together!

Me and DH always go for 2 weeks. A few people I have spoken to who have been have said that for them a week is too much. If you ask them why they think that though, they always come up with the same answer -

"We were fed up with walking up and down the strip all day."

The thing is with people who say things like that they do not hire a car, nor do they research what they can see or do outside of the Strip. To them it's like Vegas is just a length of road with casinos on it and you can't go any further than the Stratosphere at one end and the airport at the other. If anybody is thinking of going for the first time, I always suggest hiring a car.

There are tons of places to see beyond the actual Strip, Valley of Fire, Hoover Dam etc, the trouble is sometimes 2 weeks isn't long enough for us because we always find a place that looks interesting the day before we are due to come home. Although it gives us an excuse to go back

Please don't listen to people who try and put you off like that. If they hated it fair enough, you may fall in love with the place as soon as you get there. Everybody is different.
In fact if circumstances had have been different, me and DH would be on our way back there now for the 5th time.

Ha Ha All regular posters on here LOVE Vegas so I am guessing the answer would be as long as posible, that would be my answer anyway.

Vegas for most people is love or hate if your friend hated it they are going to say 1 day is to long. Why did they hate it was it lack of research before they went?

12 nights would be a great first time experience IMO

Just read Dontones post and I agree..we always have a car and spend a LOT of time off strip..shopping, sightseeing, sporting events, eating etc

Thanks for the responses.

The OH and me always like to do our research and make the most out of somewhere and there seemed like plenty to keep us occupied other than gambling.

Was told "too much tits and !!!" and the shops were too expensive, this was after she recommended new york where surely the stuff would have been the same price? lol

I just booked - last night :T -to go to Vegas next month.Then I remembered about this thread, so I've been having a 'quick' look at some of the posts.
I started at page 1 and 2, then jumped to these last few posts
( I will trawl back through some of the more recent pages when I have more time )
I was in Vegas about 8 years ago, so have an idea of some of the things we'll want to do, but need to check out hotels first. Because this link to 'Bills' seemed cheap (and I'm not familiar with the hotel) I thought I'd have a look, but using the link and the code isn't working for me.
Just though I'd mention this in case I'm doing something wrong, or in case I should know to do something else before viewing the deal ???

Thanks to everyone for all the helpfull comments and tips on this forum....I look forward to looking through them all later.:T
