Don't forget the 100 free listings a month at 99p. Also that ebay seem to be telling lots of sellers to upgrade to a business account. I'm not sure if most of these are listing at 99p or at different start prices. Soolin will no doubt know. There was a bit on the ebay board from Soolin suggesting that a new thread is started just for sellers who have been told to upgrade, I think or I may have dreamt that.
I did suggest it but I think I was the only person interested
The reason I suggested it was because I love statistics and audits and i wondered whether there was any pattern emerging. I get a lot of people , not on here, email me for advice and so far all but about two of them who have been forced to upgrade have been selling 2nd hand clothes. Yet the obvious business sellers don't yet seem to be affected, or else they just aren't the sort of person who contacts me for help.
Has anyone heard of a private seller forced to upgrade who hasn't been selling second hand clothes?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No, I haven't heard of anybody at all being made to upgrade but then I only 'know' the people on this thread :rotfl:
Have listed 25 tonight and with the relistings, I currently have 63 items on with 2 bids!!
Have put another 10 items into my room ready to start preparing tomorrow for listing on Thursday and will do another 10ish on Thursday.
I've opened a NPB on someone for an item that ended 17 June. He has now emailed telling me that he will pay at the end of the month when he gets paid. Any thoughts? Would you wait for a 99p item? He has managed to pay for other items recently...Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -

Another thing that really hacks me off,is in the wanted section. When people want buyers for their stuff. Why don't ebay crack down on them for fee avoidance? It's often large job lots, that I've reported.
I have suggested that they employ me to police the site.
Gumtree as well, so far they've not offered me a position.
I'd love that, never have to leave the house, bl00dy ideal for an agaraphobic like me.
I'd even dress up in a police uniform if they wanted.:rotfl:0 -

NPB have been the bane of my life the past few weeks, only sold 8 things I think & 4 have been NPB.
One was a car, that sold for more on gumtree:rotfl:
Another item went on to sell for more as well, the other I can't close until tomorrow but it's a big item that I really wanted out of the way, as I have a chest of drawers that needs to go in it's place.
If you relist are you likely to get more for it or not sell?0 -
Does anyone on here use a free auction template, if so which one? I've been looking through & a lot of them want a sign up fee, ebay-turbo listers are too dear. I'm going to start business selling & assume that templates help your items to sell? Personally as a buyer I don't care either way but on the ebay board people say that they prefer them. As long as it isn't something musical or flying around the listing I don't notice & the animated ones as soon as I see them I close it, can't be doing with a Mickey Mouse on acid, or anything similar.
Where is every body nowadays, has everyone lost their mojo?
We need mrscmr back, as since she's gone it's been as flat as a pancake on here. Please come back, I know that you're a busy lady but, hey, you could always give up sleeping. It's vastly overrated anyway.
The last few times I've posted, as above I end up talking to myself.0 -
:rotfl:hermum, I'm sorry I've been too busy to read the daily emails I get from MSE so had no idea that you have been talking to yourself
I had a really slow week on ebay last week but this week is a little better although newbie ebayers are doing my head in! I have one persistent one who keeps on asking me the price of a bit of an item and how much it will cost to post, and when I pointed out I was selling teh whole thing he then asked for a courier price on a collect only  In fact, I think I might go and block him before he bids....
My NPBs whittled down to 1 and I closed the case on him yesterday.
Off to prepare another 20 or so as I won't be touching eBay again until next week, after I get my assignment down.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
:jI'm not all alone.
I don't understand all you people who have a life, a real life outside of MSE.
Good luck with your listings & block the newbie, block the newbie.
I have so much to do & so much to list I don't really know which way to turn. Sold a couple of things at the weekend, a few more finishing tomorrow.
I'm emptying a house after a tenant left & it's been left full of toys & clothes, that she says to dump as she doesn't want it. So need to go box that up & sort for ebaying, there must be hundreds of pounds worth.
Good luck woth your assignment0 -
hermum, I also have too much to know where to start. I've decided to just grab a box and list everything in there even if I don't want to because quite often I think the stuff is rubbish or not going to sell but I keep on doing that so don't actually list much.
I'm also having several floors tiled except it was partly done and then we had to wait for some more tiles so not only is the house untidy and unclean from waiting for the work to be finished but I have eBay stuff everywhere. It is very embarassing :eek:Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
Can someone clarify for me please the 100 items a month at 99p for free, is that calculated as a calender month?
I have sooooo many boxes of items to sell its scary! I have brought 7 boxes down from the attic & the attic is still choco block !!!!
I have found lots of unused gold & silver jewellery & lots of watches, that I used to buy in my youth !!!! Watches are mainly Guess & one Rotary & one times, do you think ebay will be the best for the watches & sell the jewellery for scrap ?? Also I have loads of cds, cassettes, play station games....... Ebay for them as well ??
Thanks guys.0 -
Hi, sorry I can't help on where would be best, you're probably best checking out the completed listings. I'm sure on the forum there's stuff about selling gold & silver. What era is it?
The 100 listings a month I don't think has ever been clarified as being, from 1st- last day.
There's no insertion fee if you're a private seller and you list your item in an eligible category in the auction-style format with a starting price of up to 99p. If you list items in a second category, this will be charged the standard fees for listing in a second category. Private sellers can create a maximum of 100 new listings per month at a starting price between £0,01-£0.99, from 101 listings upwards the standard insertion fee for all eligible categories of £0.10 applies, £0.05 for Media.
Take note of the new listings a month, does that mean that relists are charged or are they not counted?
Sorry about the real sh1te non enswer.
But I was so excited to see someone else post.0
