Just saying is it worth it. If i buy and sell to make up 50% of the income, the other 50% from selling my own clothes, if i registar for tax am i not just signing up to pay tax for selling my own items? Seems a bit rubbish to be honest.
You seperate it out, registering as self employed doesn't mean you pay tax on your own sales.
I have several ebay accounts, I have business ones for all my business sales and they are all declared. My own private stuff is sold on a private account and not declared as it is mine (I feel one of those stage horror laughs should be inserted here...mine all mine I tell you haaa).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If anyone is thinking of listing on Amazon I would do it quickly. I've sold 3 books in the past 40 minutes, so there must be a lot of bored people on Amazon tonight with money left over from Christmas!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I am not listing tonight, am trying to get my 08/09 tax return done, what a nightmare, it's taking me ages to go through all my invoices, my own fault for not keeping up to date with them.
Anyway, have decided to ring HMRC tomorrow to go back as Self Employed as I really miss it and want to sell something interesting rather than just my old tat.
Anyone wanting to find out about Wholesalers either do a search online, I used to sell clothing so just searched for Wholesalers of childrens clothing, also there is a magazine you can by which has Wholesale companies in for lots of things, can't remember what it is called now.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

well done everybody! for people looking for wholesale google "the Trader" it takes you to links for wholesale traders of all different types of items. I cannot recommend any as i dont buy wholesale. for the newbies using ebay i would recommend turbo lister if you dont have much time all at once, you just list your stuff on turbo lister (which is software programme from ebay site) in bits and pieces then download onto ebay all at once. its great if you want things to finish at the same time rather than having to check everyday and it makes trips to the post office fewer. i managed to do 14 items in about 20 mins tonight before it would have taken me forever and i would have given up after 6 or 7 bored! make sure your spellings are correct too - i'm watching something that normally goes for between 15 & 20 but is sitting at £1.50 because its in the wrong catagory (think they were trying to get out of offering the free p&p) also the spelling is wrong so anybody searching for a specific item it wont come up! so fingers crossed! hope this help!skintbint x
