Just seen Announcement on noticeboard about the number of items Private sellers are allowed to list.

    Worth having a read!

For sellers with feedback under 25 it takes immediate effect, for others it comes in in June and as you say it is essential reading for all people who run private accounts.

There's a thread on the ebay board

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=2378595

I suspect come June there will be a lot of sellers wondering why they suddenly have listing fees to pay, there was a 'private' seller on the boards last month that had 800+ 99p listings at one time.

    Hi Soolin

I suppose it is good to weed out people who are abusing the system, 800+ items at 99p, that is not right.

I'm not going to be listing too much on my Personal account, just bits I find that might get a bid or two, I'm going to be going through my Ebay boxes when the kids go to my parents next week for a few days and throw the rubbish and take some stuff up the charity shop, there is an RSPCA one near us and as we used to have a dog who I miss so much thought that hopefully the RSPCA could make a bit of money on stuff.

Some stuff just doesn't sell and I've got stuff I've relisted hundreds of times and I wouldn't list it if I had to pay for it.

I agree with you TMD, I have got a bit lazy with some of my private listings and just keep relisting when it doesn't sell and i'm sure others do the same. I have already started to sort through stuff and be braver about just not bothering to ebay some and taking it straight to the charity shop.

    HOORAY!! Am very happy today.

After lots of e-mails to various Ebay representatives I've finally had my account reinstated back to High for Policy Compliance as a 'gesture of goodwill'. Am so happy, for those that don't know from previous posts, I had 2 listings pulled because they had policy breaches (wasn't intentional I had no idea). I ended the third one, after an e-mail from the person at the company who reported them asking for my account to be reinstated, my account was put back to High from Medium for Policy Compliance, then 24 hours later the listing I ended was 'pulled' because apparently it was still in my completed listings, so they put me back to Medium, I've e-mailed 4 or 5 times and always got a different person respond, but today the lady who originally restored my account has restored it again.

I wasn't happy to accept the Medium as I ended the listing when I knew it breached the rules and I wasn't to know because it could still be seen when searching completed items that it could get pulled.

So am back to High now and very happy.

Hey all......finding it very slow on ebay at the moment!

Just wanted to announce my good ebay deed!! :)

I sold my DD's barbie trike on ebay...looked brand new. 8 people watching and only went for £1.20 :( I was a little bitter about it as i wanted to send it (DF would have sent it with his stuff at work and i would have made the £5 as profit that i had put on for postage!) but the woman who bought it was in the next town!!!! So she came to pick it up!
I assumed she would bring cash but she paid by paypal!!! So after fees i got 84p!!!

I met her and she seem a nice lady albeit a little dappy!! lol

Then i found the parent handle to go with it about 4 months later! I emailed the lady andsaid she was welcome to have it if she wanted to pick it up.My brother said i shouldn't bother as i had got so little for it. But i though i might as well. She emailed back thanking me very much and that she would pick it up yesterday. I left it out and assume she has had it though i havent had an email back yet!

Nice feeling to do good deeds. :D:D:D:D:D

I hope everyone is doing well xx

Thanks for the advice about registering as a business seller. l am registered self employed for one of my jobs so currently fill in a tax return, was intending to just add this income to my next return. l will look into the business seller requirements though.

TMD, at last they've seen sense.
Still haven't gone through & sorted out exactly what I made yet. If you sell on amazon & green met do you add that to your ebay totals? I sold a book on greenmet the other day after postage I think I got 1.41 or was it 1.59 will check the COP receipt.

Now I know that if you buy to sell on it would be classed as a business, I put some of my handmade cards on I dont very often make a profit,I just get my money back, its just that because of my illness I make them as a hobby and then put a few on when I have so many I dont know what to do with them. Would this be looked on as a business though?
