Where is everybody, it's gone v v quiet over the last few days.
I stumbled on the Amazon thread the other day & have spent a few hours checking some of my books, so far I've found several that are listed for more than 1p, some for a fair bit. I need to get some boxes & go through them all. I have a Mrs Beetons Household Management that isn't listed on Amazon but has gone on ebay for anything up to £80ish, & a cookery book that on amazon is up for £43.99, it hasn't sold for that much on ebay though has gone for £36 ish. Is it worth putting the one not on amazon on there & put in a really high price & see what happens or stick it on ebay. Same as the plain cookery one? Do I even want to sell them?
Right stuck them both on amazon, one for £100 as there isn't one on there when I saw one on there one time it was for a couple of hundred but think it was in better nick, the other I've put on for £50, as it's in better condition than the others from the sounds of it & they are bothe in the states. Nice if they sell. I really should get down some boxes & put all my pricey books on amazon & novels on green met. Where does everyone else find that books sell the best, or does it depend on the type of book?0 -
I'm here hermum but not doing much ebay because of the Easter break - not sure whether to wait until after Easter as I now have visions of everybody going away for a holiday (not that I'm jealous of them
)
I list loads on Amazon and GreenMet and agree with you putting them on Amazon - they may take a while to sell but at least you are not being charged until they are sold.
I will list items on Amazon for 1p if the overall amount is satisfactory - some of my thin books have sold well and I've made money after postage.
GreenMet, I have periods of selling lots and then selling nothing but again at least you are not being charged for having them on there.
Which reminds me.....I must get the remainder of my books and CDs out of the cupboard and list them tomorrow.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
You are up late like me Floxxie.
I was reading my book (couldn't put it down until I finished it).
Just come to log off my computer and had a reply from Ebay re my listing being pulled 24 hours after having my account reinstated to say that as it was still in my Completed listings and they had to cancel it they can't do anything.
Am pretty annoyed about it.
I've e-mailed back so that is my last chance, they told me to contact the guy again but if they have to fill in paperwork obviously the last one didn't get in as early as the other two so am back to square one.
At least I was happy for 24 hours that my account was back. Ebay sucks - big time!!!Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
So what does that mean for your account then?0

It just means that I am on Medium for Policy Compliance so that when anyone searches for items I will be further down the list and will probably not sell much.
I have just had another e-mail from them telling me that I relisted the item and I did not. I ended the listing 48 hours before I got notification that it was ended and 24 hours after my account was reinstated.
Getting so fed up, if I had relisted it or had done something then I'd understand but I didn't and I'm getting really angry about it now. The guy at Umbro was really nice and he said that they would tell me I could relist the items but not to (obviously he had to tell them my listings were OK to get my account changed). He told me not to relist as it would flag up on their system and it would get pulled but I didn't relist it like they say.
Going to end all my listings and transfer over to my other Business account.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Hi TMD
Sorry to hear you having ebay hell!
I received an email from one of these ebay educators/powersellers that I must have signed up for and he said he has a seperate website/shop from his Ebay shop because of the 'constrictions'. I think it is so he is not so reliant upon Ebay especially if they were to suddenly close down his access. He also says he lists on other auction sites. I think he is in USA again to make sure that he is not so dependant upon Ebay should anything happen.
Perhaps you should think about 'expanding', it sounds like you do a lot/enough to maybe have your own shop/website no matter how small you might start off, from little acorns....0 -
Hi guys,
Been directed to this thread by mrscmr so thought i'd join in. I don't really have a target for myself except to throw as much at my debt this year as possible. I've paid off about 2k since November which I thought was impossible but I'm proving myself wrong. To start with, I've just listed 5 things on ebay today. I now have the task of convincing myself it's better to sell clothes I haven't worn for a year than keep them 'just in case'.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16
