I would like to get £17 because we know we can get £16 at the local Game shop as a trade in so we'll see.
What is good is as long as we don't make a loss (or even if it is a small one) it has spurred me on and I know now more about Ebay than I did last week. Hope to get the hand of it in order to clear out two rooms full of junk.
Thanks for your help.
If you want to beat the £16 then you'll have to do a lot better than £17 on ebay, the FVFs alone on the item at £17 will come ot £1.70 and I thought you were offering free postage so that needs to come out as well.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ooh!
Not going well. Soolin, yes 90p postage, recycling packaging. Final bid £16.00. My son is not happy (his item) took ages for him to save to buy it from paper round wages. He has said he is not going to part with it. I emailed buyer to say oh sorry but do you mind if we don't sell? Answer not good. I'm sure my son will come around (will have to) or I will buy it from him and take the loss.
Will broach the subject again this evening. Don't know how patient buyer will be (if at all).0 -
Havnt been doing any ebaying, but just sold dd's first violin on friday ad - got a great price for it, and no posting or feedback. Hurrah !
Have a drawer full of items to photograph then list later this week - I dont want the faff of toddling off to the po during half term!0 -
DeeDee. I hope you sort out the DVD issue soon so the buyer doesn't leave a negative.
Glad you're going to talk to your son about the risks of selling on eb@y. I've made less money on items that I've wanted, but that's the risk with selling at auctions. In contrast I've made more money on other stuff so I'm in profit - though it's rather tiny and I'm not sure it's worth the effort for my stuff
If your son knows what he wants for items, maybe selling on Gumtree or Friday ads would be better and no fees or postal costs?0 -

Seriously I would make a decision now, don't leave it. If you have to withdraw from the sale you would be best to close the account down completely, a neg, a non performing seller complaint and low stars would kill it anyway and you'd never sell again. If you can get the account closed before it is suspended then you are free to open a new one, if however the account is suspended then you may not trade on ebay anyore even with a new account.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. How's anyone doing selling books on ebay now there's no free p&p. I don't know whether to try to sell books on ebay as all my books are on Amazon and I'm not sure it's worth the effort of listing... however, I do want the books sold (but don't want to give them away).
I have tried to sell books that are not listed on Amazon, but not having much luck. Think I must have weird taste
What are people's suggestions about what works and what doesn't on Ebay?0 -

We all make mistakes when we start ebaying and soon learn to build in all fee's to make sure we get the minimum amount that we want for the item.
To be honest, and please dont take this the wrong way, but if I had won an item and then got an email to say that sorry not going to sell I wouldnt be too happy either, lets be honest people are looking for bargains!!!,
If you are still planning to carry on ebaying it might be better to just chalk this up to experience and take the loss (ive done this myself a could of times at the beginning), and believe me you soon learn not to do it again;)
Hope you get it sorted soon and it hasnt put you off for good, because there is always the times that you think "oh ill only get pennies for this#2 and then you get a great suprsie as the bids pile in, and then it makes it all worth while.0 -
