Just came into my office to do some Ebay and what do I hear, something running through the wall next to me, we have had problems with rats recently and nextdoor have them under their floor boards in their kitchen and up in their loft. How on earth do they get in the walls? It sounds like a false wall when you knock it it is hollow but quite scary and makes me cringe, I hate rats.

Not sure how much Ebaying I'll get done now.

is it like a stud partion wall? that is v scary... i wouldnt like that :-( get someone to sort it out. we have mice in garage and once i must have been taking rubbish to the tip and a dead one [sorry sorry] must have fell out and was in my boot for a bout a week till i spotted it. grim/flat as pancake.

I think it is like that, it sounds hollow when you knock on it, haven't heard it again, I did hear it about a week ago but not as loud, maybe it's making it's way back to next door as they hear it scratching around in their loft, he said that he had blocked up any holes so will have to ask him again next time I speak to him if he still has them as he was going to call out the Environmental Health people, if he hasn't done it then I will as we had them out last year when we had rats in the garden.

I'm ebaying until I hear it again and then will give up until OH comes in about 10.30. I hate living here, wish I could move down to Dorset where my parents live.

tmd sorry to hear about them!! We could hear something before christmas in our walls!! Was horrible - we found a gap under the floor boards and put poision down there and also put a trap in the living room and lucky we caught a little mouse and have not heard anymore so i hope thats it or they have died from the poision!! The poision we put down was rat poision so would help with that. Also years ago we had rats in the roof of a flat we was renting and rentakill (or what ever they are called!) Came and put boxes around the bin shed etc and also put poision in the loft and they soon went......Its horrible to think about them running around everywhere!!!!

Meant to say, yuck to having a dead mouse in your car, will definitely not be moving near a park, nature reserve or any open spaces again in the future. I've lived here (house backs onto the park, the entrance to the park is at the side of our house) and used to live on the edge of Hounslow Heath and used to get mice in the loft there, that is when I sold up and moved in with OH, just can't bear it, last year next door had problems with squirrels in his loft.

Let's hope I sell lots of stuff on Ebay so I can afford to pay of my debts and move house (well, it's nice to dream). I did win £11.60 on the Euromillions on Friday but that went to pay for the rest of the girls ballet outfits.

Thanks, will defo speak to next door and see if they are calling out environmental health and maybe he can get them to come round here when they have been to his.

Opps listed something for £50 as it was listed on amazon for £60 but it didnt sell or have any whatchers so i relisted it tonight but put a BIN on for £19.99 as i thought thats better then nothing and it sold within 20mins!! so should have prob put it on for a bit more....dh will moan at me now!!lol

I've reduced stuff in the past when things haven't sold, I think it's better to sell it for a bit less than to keep paying to relist.

Yeah im happy it has sold but i know dh will say i listed it for too little as it went so quick!! Ah well might just not mention it sold so quick
