I will be ok once I have calmed down (which could take hours)

have posted on old style, you never know.

sorry to sound like such a loon, I am just really fed up today, house situation driving me nuts plus I missed two nights out. carpet and possible expense is the final straw.
I will stick to my list tho, it is the only way forward.

maybe the funny carpet shop in the high street can help.

Buffy don't let it get you into a downward spiral...(i myself am prone to this) i know how one thing can tip you back over the precipice you've dragged yourself up from. Chalk it up to a 'poo happens' moment

  • I played a silly game on Facebook. I am a lot calmer now.

Thinking that this gives me an opportunity to redecorate my room.

Yes I know debt free etc. But maybe with the decluttering and the new start at work..............I reckon I could manage to do it on a budget. I don't even like the carpet really.

I would need to re paint the walls, fix up the funny in the wall cupboard and of course replace the carpet. I would really like a wooden floor (is that cheaper than carpet) but not sure Mum would be up for noise. but maybe some kind of padded laminate (not sure that is exactly what I mean? cushsioned?)

Ok, so that is a plan for the summer.

  • Is going to paint the floorboards! White, and buy a nice rug instead of a beige carpet.

It will mean lots of disruption for a few days and Mum will do her pieces but we don't have to tell her just yet...............;)

So from now till the end work I shall e bay and declutter, with the aim that I will redecorate in August.

    best go to bed.

    Night

    Morning hun, chin up.

Its hard when you don't have enough space or storage is all wrong, and even worse when you are ready for your own place.

The list is good, just remember you dont have to all of it at the same time!

A word of warning - painted floor boards look nice for the first 2 hours...they chip easily, the drafts blow up through the gaps unless you seal them all first and it makes a room feel very bare and echoy.

If you're planning on going at some stage in the near future then why not just ignore the carpet and save the money towards a flooring that you really like in a place of your own.

As for storage, you've mentioned a spare room before, could you not use that for work and keep your bedroom just for sleeping in? It might help to make you feel less stressy if you have a little haven of calm.

The first item on your list is a must though and we will all nag you until you go!
