    Careful

Stu has been to a 'malware removal training school' over the last year
His skill with computers is unquestionable

M8 your the one who proved unquestionable by practically laughed at everything I said.

As for AVG / AVAST etc I've never had a problem with these so I'm thinking these could be PEBCAC errors.

Anyway I won't waste anymore time arguing with you or your following. I clearly get nowhere.

If the original poster wants to make a choice then I suggest they look here:

    and here:

    http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/Free-Antivirus-Antispyware-Software-t38.html

Oh and you can sign up for FREE, malware removal training there and then compare your methods effectiveness to theirs

Hopefully one day you will see what I mean

    How robbed?

Thats the way I've been taught and that guide is used by 1000's daily.

What is wrong with using a proven standard?

Well. It seems to me that you follow what youve been taught 'blindly'. Its quite clear from some of your answers that you need a little experience too (A bit like driving a car. You can be taught to drive a car and pass your test. But you need 'experience' behind a wheel before your truly a decent driver)
    No bad thing

    My answers?

    Your the one who:

Tried to delete legit HJT entries
    Uses Combofix on Vista boxes
Uses HJT which is totally outdated and most modern malware can hide from it
Cant really explain where your malware research is from

    Have a good New Year

    bit confused!!!
Please do not continue to recommend AVG. It is not "excellent" and barely makes "good" in tests.

Avast twice this year has rendered millions of computers unusable by quarantining Windows system files.

Deals, AVG used to be one of the best (in my opinion the best) free AV products. but in some of the more recent tests it hasn't been getting such good ratings so most people are no longer recommending it.

Avast is a well known free AV that a lot of people are happy with. However Computershack is saying that recently it has had a couple of false positives where it has identified genuine system files as viruses and quarantined them. That means they are no longer available to the system so the system won't boot.

As I said earlier I like MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials). It's free, light on resources and includes the functionality of Windows Defender. It's also getting decent scores in tests.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die
